Yeah, stip clubs are great, if you can't get any and you like to go to a place to: A. - Spend about $800 hoping to get a BJ or B. - Spend about $200 and leave at 3:00 with an incredible case of blue balls. My suggestion is go somewhere like the Hurricane hut and blow $100 on an 18 year old and at least get a hand job.
I don't know how it works at strip clubs that y'all go to. At LaBare, every Thursday night, they let college students in free with a college I.D. If I were going on a weekend though, I'd only pay the cover if a huge group of us were going. But maybe it's different for girls and guys.
Hey Kam - I moved from my apartment (where we had the cc.net game) and now I live by the Gold Cup too. After driving by it many times over the last three years, I finally had to check it out. $7 cover, $6-7ish drinks, quasi-good looking girls, and a decent Gold Cup burger. Since I haven't seen any naked women (other than my wife live lately, I'd offer to check it out with you, but I can't on my diet. (Atkins) Damn, I really miss Canadian strip clubs. They have a 3 foot rule, but the girls dancing on the stage are truly dancers and put on a great show over 3-4 songs. They also don't have a cover and the beer, etc is reasonably priced (especially for Canada). The only advantage I see for Houston is the 30 second - 1 minute private show you get when you give them a dollar - and frankly, I'd rather touch a woman who is enjoying it (my wife). The only reason I go once in a great while is to see naked women in person - which isn't a bad thing if you think about it.
I live over by the horsetrack area. Off of Fairbanks. I might have to be 21 to get in. I have to wait til next june if it is 21 and up.
Sorry Princess, LaBare's is not a strip club. That is unless you can tip a guy enough to go down on you in the champagne room. It is kind of like a swimming pool with guys who dance around the pool in speedos but without the pool. My friend is a dancer there.
I think you folks are getting too hyped up by the sexual aspect. Strip clubs are aesthetic experiences not unlike museums. You don't go to the Louvre expecting to take home the Mona Lisa do you? It is very healthy to appreciate and enjoy the human form. It was considered the highest aspiration of art for thousands of years until our natural instincts were perverted by religious prudery. So go and enjoy the beauty of the human form , you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars and you don't have to walk out with a raging boner . For me I'd rather go to a strip club than and art museum.
I have a very good friend (who moved out of town recently... major bummer) who was a regular a Sugars and The Yellow Rose in Austin. He was always trying to get me to go... my wife being cool with it, and offering to pick up the tab for ANYTHING... and I did from time to time. But then when I had to pretty much stop drinking, because of meds I'm taking for cholesterol (another major bummer... 4 beers and the next day I feel like I had a case) I found that I couldn't handle the smoke. It's like EVERYONE at these places smoke like a chimney. I have the same problem going to clubs to listen to music... can't handle the clouds of smoke unless I have a major buzz going. Can't have the major buzz anymore, so my wife and I don't go. I have to say, however, that the women who knew my buddy... a high roller... were both stunningly lovely and very, VERY nice. He sometimes had them come home with him, being divorced and in a great pad in Tarrytown, just because they liked him and got to know him well over many months. I met a few and then would split so they (sometimes more than one) could be alone. It was something he could do while he was trying to meet a "regular girl" in the real world. Not a bad life for a 40-ish divorced guy with money and needing some fun and entertainment. I think the money and being a little older helps A LOT.
