by laying the trash down, they may be trying to test if people use the driveway for a few days...to see if you're on vacation. Otherwise the trash will be disturbed by coming in and out of the driveway.

 

I have ADT. I pay about $1 a day. I think it's worth the peace of mind, but again, I think the ADT sign is the most important part.
