1.)The loose ball foul on Aaron Brooks when Blake threw a football style block on him as he scrambled for the ball in the fourth
2.)The star treatment foul on Shane when he had a clean block on Roy in the final seconds
3.)The call on Lowry when Rudy fell over and Blake through the ball straight out of bounds in the final seconds of the game
4.)No technical on Oden after shoving Yao
5.)The play where the ball was thrown into Yao and Oden jumped over his back and knocked it away
6.)The missed goaltending call on a Wafer breakaway drive.
7.)The foul by Oden that ended Dekes career which was called on Deke.
8.)The loose ball foul on Yao when Joel flopped to the ground.
9.) A blocking foul (star treatment) on Yao when Roy drove into him, initiated all the contact, then got blocked.
10.) Foul on Shane after Roy misses a jump shot and just falls to the ground.

    Great Post!!!

But most of these calls don't really bug me in comparison to the "No Calls" prazbilla and Oden were getting when they were trying to keep yao out of the post. Its was obvious all game long since when is it ok to wrap your arm around the front of a player to keep him behind you.

The officiating was some of the worst I've seen, but the Rockets still had a chance to win. There were too many missed free throws and not enough touches for Yao. And, if the refs would actually make calls they see, rather than making assumptions, the Rockets wouldn't have a problem with the oppositions's flopping.

I feel like im the only person in Houston that feels that it was equally terrible for both teams, so that would make it fair(-ish)....

But how many times did they actually commit a foul?

    Missed/Blown calls I saw:
1.)The loose ball foul on Aaron Brooks when Blake threw a football style block on him as he scrambled for the ball in the fourth
2.)The star treatment foul on Shane when he had a clean block on Roy in the final seconds
3.)The call on Lowry when Rudy fell over and Blake through the ball straight out of bounds in the final seconds of the game

7.)The foul by Oden that ended Dekes career which was called on Deke.
8.)The loose ball foul on Yao when Joel flopped to the ground.
9.) A blocking foul (star treatment) on Yao when Roy drove into him, initiated all the contact, then got blocked.
10.) Foul on Shane after Roy misses a jump shot and just falls to the ground.

good list above, I think the game should be decided by the players and imo the officiating was scripted to yield more games and more money for the league and or to give the blazers a chance to take the series. After the Donaghy stuff, I don't really believe in the integrity of the game; their excuse: all of this stuff falls under the crutch of human error

If you watched NBATV, you may feel it is somehow "fair", otherwise, get robbed for sure.

for the guys who have the game DVR'd from NBA TV:

if you rewatch it, you'd notice that everytime a "questionable" call was made by the officials, a replay was ONLY shown when the call was right.. I counted at least 12 times where the commentators (not Bill and Clyde) said "that was a close one" or something along those lines and I was screaming "show me replay!", but nothing was shown..

judging from that alone, it's clear that the officials were awful.. still not an excuse though.

on a side note, is anyone else as bothered as I am by Stern's comments when he was interviewed in Game 1? he basically went off on how amazing the Blazers were and how "they had problems, but are now excellent! and I promised them to come watch em etc.." but he didn't mention a single thing about us.. I mean, that was embarrassing.. at least throw out a little compliment to make it seem like your league is fair..

I highly suggest that Rockets fans submit their issues with officiating by submitting complaints to the NBA league office. The link to the form can be found here:

Again, not whining about the loss, but I’m upset that a playoff intensity game was wasted because of the whistles. Very boring to watch that type of b-ball!

Am I the only one who saw that Rudy Fernandez touched the ball on that last play??? Yes he tripped over himself, but if they don't call it, the clock runs out before we get a chance to have the ball...

free throws lost us the game. Offensive rebounds lost us the game. Execution down the stretch lost us the game. Refs don't lose games for you.

I can't wait to go to Game 3...

Ha, I remember the Blazers announcers after (1) was called, "Good call, Steve blake had a perfect line to the ball and Brooks just ran him over."

    NATE uses the Seattle Philosophy
    In that case it was
IF YOU PLAY ILLEGAL DEFENSE EVERY TIME . . THEY WON'T CALL IT EVERYTIME BECAUSE IT WILL SLOW DOWN THE GAME
    so
when seattle played the rockets. . they gave them a hard time
cause they kept someone parked in the lane . . .

    in this case
They hack and foul knowing they will only be whistled for it
    1 in 4 times

Those were very good observations on your part OP. But did you remember Yao getting that cheap foul on Oden when he tried to poke the ball away from him, and then later on in the 4th, Oden is able to poke the ball away from Yao? Looked like the same call to me. That may have been one of the biggest sequences of the game. Hopefully in Houston, the officials will allow us to play our game and be more physical. On the other hand, making more free throws and keeping them off of the offensive glass may help our cause.

Man, some people really need to get their homer glasses off.

If you think Oden fouled Dikembe on that play he got injured... then you're looking way too hard. Now, I will say that I don't think Dikembe should have gotten a foul on that play... but there is no way in hell that Oden fouled him.
