790 was horrable. I much rather listen to D. Patrick. It's the reverse for me, J&L were much better when they were at 610, now they have too much "jock" crap. Their commercials (Nick's Place, China Garden, etc...) are just unbearable. Back OT, I won't miss Ware, I didn't think he added much to the show, but good luck to him anyway. I found the Van man more enjoyable nowadays. AC has his moments, but at times he is a little bit too much of a homer. Kind of like MattJ (no offense man).
From my understanding of it, AC is a huge Rockets fan, and this bbs being a Rockets BBS, would want AC to fit into Andre's spot. 1560 is hilarious, I'll admit, but from the times I do listen (7:45-8:15 am) and (5-6pm), they always seem to rag on how crappy the astros are, before any coverage of the Rockets. Doesn't help that their signal is so weak in my car. I'm just saying... If you're reading this AC, I hope you get to fill the spot opposite of Marc V. I also wouldn't mind the Adam C and Adam Wex show. It would be 90% rockets talk, something I can live with, even if it's officially the offseason.
Not to attack ya MoonBus, but what's wrong with listening to a homer? If I wanted to listen to non biased radio, i'd listen to 97.5 the ticket or read BSPN. The homer talk is what you get when you live in the city. I know plenty of people from Houston who don't reside here stream the 610/1560 just to get the homer talk.
I disagree with that. I listen to the morning show a lot and they've given the Rockets plenty of talk during the playoff run. Now that the season is over they've wasted no time talking Texans, which is a little early for me, but that beats talking about the Astros any day of the week I guess.
1560 in the little time i was listening this morning was already Texans OTAs heavy. its bad enough that John Harris (whom I really like) is almost all football.
None taken. It's ok to be homer, but I feel at times his homerism blinds his evaluation of the team and over estimates them. J&L are homers, but seldom over-hype their team. None the less, I do like AC and hope he takes over the spot. AC just gave props to this site on the radio. Anyone who appreciates ClutchFans knows their stuff.
i personally like Ware, he brought enough knowledge for me and his stories when he were a player was cool, his diversions to books/movies was cool, he was just like one of the fellas. I personally listen to 610 every morning, 1560 may have more knowledgeable guys, but I liked the vibe of 610, but thats just my opinion.
The 2 hours I can't stand on 1560 is the Hoffman hour (12-1) and the Astros hour (currently going on right now - 10-11). Other than those 2 hours, 1560 PWNS 610, 790, and 97.5 put together.
I liked Andre alright... came off as level headed, knowledgeable enough, and sensible... though a bit indifferent or uninterested at times. please. no.
Oh, yeah....forgot about that hour too. I switch to 1560 while that crap hour is going on. After that, I flip to AC's Experience. Speaking of the golf hour, some guy named Lamont called in to complain this morning about why 610 runs the snooze hour. After Vanderdork and Washed Up Andre defended the Golf Hour, Charlie Epps (guess he's a golf expert) came on trying to make up some lame excuse on keeping the Golf Hour and offered Lamont golf lessons. I hope they kill it....
I don't know why they even bother trying to defend it. It's been admitted the Golf Hour is a paid advertisement. I forget where I read it. That hour must be a pretty cheap buy to be worthwhile because nobody in their right mind listens to it. I'm so sick of hearing Charlie Epps' voice that I wouldn't listen if I were a rabid golfer. Just accidentally tuning in for 5 seconds is grates on my nerves. I'd rather listen to Doug Pike on AM790. With rabid golfer Andre Ware leaving, maybe they'll dump the show.
