It's a bit of a concern to me frankly. .394 slugging through the first 24 games. The speed game is also down.
He had 0 HR and a .364 SLG through his first 17 games last season. He's a had a handful to the warning track and his flyball rate is right in line with recent seasons. He'll still end up with around 20 HR.
Altuve is extremely smart, he'll figure it out. Alex Bregman looks so robotic with his batting stance and his hands, he doesn't look loose, he needs to get going.
Bregman may be getting a little frustrated now, but he's been hitting the ball well into outs. I'm much more frustrated with his defense. He makes some great plays out there, but has also had some errors this year (especially early in season).
Bregman has been creeping back up to his numbers. He's posted an .345 Avg and .838 OPS over the last week. He did the same thing last season. He got off to a terrible start, only had a .650 OPS at the end of April. He then proceed to put up steady, but unspectacular numbers over the next 3 months before finally having an actual hot month.
Bregman worked out so hard in the offseason that his muscle mass might have affected his quickness in fielding and hitting.
color me not worried at all. it's april and Jed Lowrie is slashing .363/.420/.618 .. things will change
Yikes, Dalgy 2.0! Nice job, @CometsWin, with the timely thread. You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman!
