You hire Scott Boras to get the best deal you can from as many suitors as you can because he's damn good at what he does. Ultimately it's up to the player though.
Lots of teams/GMs have solid relations with the guy. The whole Beltran/McLane/BS deal in Houston where Boras was obviously being disingenuous or dishonest (depending on your viewpoint) does understandably leave a bad taste in the mouth.
He signed for $15,000 and now he's the MVP and a WORLD CHAMPION!!!! This couldn't have happened to a better guy.
