Alternate Jersey Unveiling Thread (UPDATE: Design of jersey, shorts)

Some good things here, but disappointing.

Joining the chorus of those who say the number should have been white to match "Houston", and overall a bit less yellow.

Not nearly as big a deal, but although I like the idea of slanting "Houston" in theory, the font doesn't seem to lend itself to it very well, and if you're not slanting "Rockets" on the other uniforms, then I'd prefer to be consistent there and keep it level. Or better yet, change the main road uniform to say "Houston" and then you can keep the slant on this one.

 

I haven't had lunch and for some reason, I'm craving McDonanlds...I just can't quite put my finger on why.

 

Quick question to Clutch and those in touch with Rockets management.

I know the league won't approve black uniforms anymore because too many teams have one but since Philadelphia switched to their old RWB uniforms and thus the league has one less black uni, why couldn't the Rockets convince the NBA to allow them the Cebero's Black and Red?

I bet if this was the Lakers or Knicks, David Stern would easily appease to their demand. Les, you should have dropped the hammer on these guys.

Honestly can we get a petition going where everyone who signs promises to purchase a black alternate uni the day its made available? Perhaps the sound of $$$ will be heard from the commitee morons.

I am considering purchasing the black and grey jersey and just have a tailor modify the colors on the trim and logo. Perhaps we can start a sort of protest with our own homebrew stuff?

 

Why do they need to add the cartoony yellow? Why can they just have them in Red and white?

 

Substitute the yellow for gold and I think it would look a whole lot better.

 

Cause it's the color of the heroes.

 

Our primary color is red.

 

If someone with some Photoshop skills has free time, it would be interesting to see how much better the jerseys would have looked if they were white on the side and collar and the white outlines were yellow.

And that stupid yellow number should be white too.

 

the more i see the alternate jerseys and from the video/interview hilltopper posted the more i'm liking them. i'll probably try to get one for my first rockets jersey

 

Doesn't half bad, judging by this picture.

 

Not feeling the shorts but the jersey looks great.

I agree these jerseys that the Rockets wore occasionally when we had Sura were the best update of the classic red and yellow. Sadly they didn't go with them but instead chose the cheesy font and lines on the jersey and shorts and yes it reminds me of the wnba.

 

I do like them better than our current uniforms though and they are growing on me because I miss the yellow and red.

 

We can as well change our team name to McDonalds French Fries.

i love them, cant wait to get one, i'm going to one of the rocket-lakers games in los angeles and will probably get and ariza alternate.

 

I voted that I like it, it's not bad, but I'm still not a fan of the old mustard/ketchup combo... Especially the mustard.

Otherwise, it's a good, clean, design that fits well with the current uniforms/logo, unlike some teams' alternates.

At first when I saw the new alternates, I had mixed feelings. However, I decided to hold judgment until I saw some of the players wear it. Then Scola and Battier were sporting them and I thought, "Hey! I love the jersey already!"
