Alternate Jersey Unveiling Thread (UPDATE: Design of jersey, shorts)

Yeah, wasn't there a thread where posters could create their own designs on NBA.com? I couldn't locate it. Anyone remember what the thread title was?

I've been super pumped for these and I gotta say...


I like them. I'm sorry but these are 10000000000000000x better than our current jerseys. I'd rank them like this:

1. Classics
2. New Alternates

3. Dildos


4. SD Rockets




5. Current

 

it's alright. i wonder if it'll look better under normal? lighting during a game so that the yellow won't stand out so much?

don't mind the yellow stripe on the sides, but I think like some have said, less yellow or a thinner strip for me and it would be much better

does anyone know what kind of yellow that is? 'cuz it's not dark enough for mustard but i think the championship colors were more of a gold if i remember correctly (I used to have this dutchboy (some paint brand) poster with all the teams and what color themes they used if you were to paint your room or something)

and I don't like how on the website the lopez guy says "why not use the ketchup and mustard colors?" That just gives it a bad connotation using food condiments as a basis. it should be ROCKETS RED and CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD or something, heh.

 

Yeah that kind of throws the whole thing off. Should have been white numbers with yellow accent. Also, the white trim should go.

Other than that, they look awesome. Can't wait to get one.

 

The yellow is just way too intense.

However, I would take these over our regulars for two reasons:

1. I much prefer these shoulder cuts.

2. Those thick converging double stripes are nowhere to be seen.

The Lakers jerseys just popped in my head. I never realized there was so much yellow on the sides for whatever reason. Never caught my eye.

However, it doesn't stand out as much against purple and it doesn't remind you of Mickey Ds.

 

I didn't take them. I'm not blind right now.

Seriously though, thank the guy from a few pages back.

 

They are terrible. The only redeeming part is the word Houston on the front.

Ok, Bushwick already posted pics. That's good.

My personal opinion on it is that it's fine. It's not great, but it's not belly aching, i've got to b**** about it bad. It's not a smiling dildo. I think people will never be happy about it unless it's the original, which is fine I guess. I'm not sure what their reason is. Maybe cause they won championships with it.

We did, but guess what.
The jersey doesn't make the champion, the champion makes the jersey.
So when we win 20 straight NBA Championships in our shiny vampire outfits, they're going to be instant classics.

Maybe there is a bit too much yellow on the side panels. I'm not digging the white bordering that seperates the yellow and red. I prefer it two tone i guess. I prefer the Houston and number to be white or it to be yellow, but not white AND yellow.

I bet it will grow on people (if we win a bunch of games this year, which we won't)

I personally find the new jersey to look pretty cool.

It is definitely reminiscent of a mustard/ketchup connection, but it's just nice to see the classic colors back in action.

And as far as the font goes, I don't have that much of a bone to pick... looks pretty average to me.

 

They are growing on me. I REALLY wish that the color of the number was white. It would look much, much better

1. Similar to the Championship jersey, the word "Houston" is slanted across the chest.

2. The overall scheme is from the '72 jersey (the retros we used when Jon Barry and Sura were here)

3. The font is from the current jerseys

Overall, I think I like them.

 

Update: The Rockets will have one of these parked in the concourse area to be given away to a lucky contest winner.
