What if Magic win a championship this year and retire their #1 jersey in Alston's name in the future? :D :D :D

    hmmmm interesting indeed..

didn't Alston only used to wear 11 (he mightve worn 12 for Toronto, but I forget). For sure I remember he couldn't wear 11 when he got to the Rox because of Yao..

Point being.. he's NEVER worn #1 before. #11 is probably always been his fav number. Perhaps he IS going with #1 to spite Tmac, and/or at the same time show respect to the time he spent playing with Yao? yeah I know I'm reaching lol..

I don't think Toronto hates him, you must be confused with Vince Carter. Magic fans do hate them though, since he did give up on them.

11 and 12 are taken in Orlando.

    So yes you're reaching.

rafer has worn 11 most of his career even at fresno state before he got to the rockets.

he could have gotten 11 back...Lee is a rookie he could have easily asked for it as a vet and "bought" the number back from him, but he didnt he chose to stick with #1.

anyone who doesn't see this as a subtle jab to mcgrady is only kidding themselves. especially after the supposed locker room issues between the two.

either way i'll be watching tonight when he takes the court

I wonder if Rafer asked Dwight Howard to give up #12?

It's tempting to read it some other way, but I'm with you. Probably an unintended dig at Tmac. 1 is a logical substitute for 11.

Dwight would have been so appauled he would have had Rafer shipped to the D-league. He would have felt so at home

Funny how things work out huh. Before all this drama I watch that video about Tracy and Weisbrod and figured Tracy was telling the truth and Weisbrod was the a-hole so Tracy the victim. Now I'm not so sure anymore, but no matter what Tracy will do or what he did, I feel a bit sad to see a human being mess up his life like that.

Pretty nice that he's wearing #1, a team should always have a #1 as the floor leader (remember Bogues). Do people here really think he took it with Tracy in the back of his mind, because even though he never wore #1, all the former numbers he had (24, 12 and 11) were taken.

P.S. Looking at our roster there's a C behind Tracy's name, when was he named teamcaptain (serious question) ?
