But we lose more defensive rebounds. I hate to see the opponent grab that many offensive rebounds in the final quarter
Well, double penetration is really cool, but there is always the risk that the players run into each other. Especially if they miss a basket. But yes, today was the most fun game of the season. I am believer once again. 4-2 without Tmac. Once he returns this team is going to be lethal. His injury was a necessary evil.
He's coming along like ET did in his rookie season, except he's got a hell of a lot more physical gifts than Sam... just in a bit smaller package.
This would mean that he would be playing SF, which is his more natural position. I hope that if T-Mac and Kobe both play at the same time in the All-Star Game, there would be a time in which either Steve Nash or Tony Parker are playing the PG position, Kobe playing SG while T-Mac plays at SF.
"I pretty much took over the point guard duties to take a little pressure off of him," Rockets point guard Rafer Alston said. "To me, he's a better scorer than I am because in college he had to score the ball a lot. So I had to try to push him over the shooting guard spot so he could come off in attack mode. I tried to run the show and control the team and not put any pressure on him down the stretch." rafer had this to say after tonights game. so i guess, it will remain as is with ra and ab playing as 1 + 2, respectively.
Very interesting quote. Indicates that the reason we haven't seen this from Brooks in the past is that he has been concentrating so much on being the point guard and setting up offense for his teammates...tonight he was in full attack mode. It's great because as he grows and matures, he will learn to balance those two roles effectively and we could start to see 20pt/8 assist type nights from him on a fairly regular basis ... possibly by his sophomore year. He's definitely still learning.
Yeah it is kinda hard for Rafer or Head to take a charge when they are five feet behind the man they are guarding. I've never seen Rafer try to draw contact on either end of the floor. Glad to see he appears to be learning the offensive skills Adelman is teaching him. I like Brooks a lot and I think he is making this team work together much better. I even think he will eventually help Luther's movement and play as well.
Actually I see Aaron Brooks being the next Terrell Brandon who was by the way a 3 time all-star and guess what both 6 foot and both came out of Oregon =) Aaron Brooks > Terrell Brandon
Nice. Intricacies. If you incorporate the phrase "subtle nuances" then Shane Battier will nod in approval.
You have to honor the winky guy, I rarely take myself seriously....just having fun and enjoying the win. You have to look beyond the bombastic approach to the core of the message, that is what is usually.....accurate. DD
I think Aaron Brooks will put up numbers similar to Terrell Brandon if i had time i would post his numbers. But career wise i think they will have similar numbers. I think Terrell best season he put up something like 20 points/8 assist. I see the same in Brooks once he gets more minutes and consistent with shots. One thing i like is when his jump shots didnt fall he decides to attack the basket.
