Feels like it’s starting to iron itself out. Those 3 playing amazing. Tons of depth (which apparently we need with these injuries)

If we really look back at the beginning of the rebuild, you could say Tate has been the core of the core and we've been secretly building around him this whole time. Next year he is planning on playing with his dominant hand again

Jalen has been playing well recently. If he can consistently keep this up and we keep winning, I wouldn't be desperate to trade him.

I'm shocked you haven't requested apology forms yet.

You mean, not trade him at all.

We are all impatient people. I been impatient with Green, his inconsistent play has always driven me crazy, but man, when he shows his potential off the team looks freaking amazing. It's hard not to be nervous about a player like Green, where you know his value could be crazy high right now, but as he gets older, the potential tag starts fading off. I want to believe though, because when Green plays amazing, the team looks really freaking good. You add Alp and him having a great game at the same time, this team looks amazing. You throw in Amen doing his thing, and this team starts appearing impossible to beat.

Not sold yet with JG. Once burned, twice shy. He's on a great hot streak again and has shown improvement in recent games, but until ten or eleven games ago, he was honestly pretty bad this season, one of the least efficient starting guards in the league.

I'm happy to keep running him out there the rest of the season and see where he ends up, no reason at all to try to trade him at the deadline given his contract situation and how well he's playing right now. But at this point I still wouldn't be surprised if he goes into another slump that lasts dozens of games. It's happened too many times before.

I need to see more before I trust it, basically.

This definitely needed it's own thread.

So tired of all these player XYZ is the core, franchise player, etc. threads.

Odd. Most people who hate things don’t then read and interact with them. Perhaps you’re a masochist?

I get players get hot and cold but do you think just being hot is the reason for the praise?

Like if he was putting up these scoring numbers 3 seasons ago but was playing on a 20 win pace team and playing that Silas era defense still, ya be like "it's just another hot streak". But that isn't the case is it?

Lmao there's nothing to read or interact with. You literally just made ANOTHER thread to discuss Jalen Green, which describes about a million other threads.

If you can post stupid threads, I can comment complaining about the stupid thread. That's how message boards work.

Overall sentiment on this board a month ago was that he was the weakest link on the team and that he should be traded soon, so yeah, I do, if you're talking about people generally being more positive now.

Here are his numbers this season:
32.8mpg, 20.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 stocks, 41.9% field goal percentage, 33.6% three point percentage, 14.8 PER, 54.1% true shooting percentage

    Here are his career averages:
32.7mpg, 19.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 stocks, 41.9% field goal percentage, 33.7% three point percentage, 14.1 PER, 54.2% true shooting percentage

Looks almost identical to me. I'll believe he's made real offensive improvements when those season numbers start consistently exceeding the career numbers.

I'll concede he's gotten a lot better on defense and that is one aspect of our overall improvement as a team (but just one part of many). I'm not ready to trust him yet as a top scoring option long-term. It's still TBD.

What were Green’s numbers pre-All Star break last season?

Even if he keeps this up there are still scenarios where trading him makes sense. Like I would trade him for Anthony Edwards.i gotta imagine most people would too.

    18 points on 41.1% shooting / 30.7% from three.

He may repeat his pattern of getting hot after the all-star break again, but I wouldn't assume he will. I hope that he does, but it may well just be random variation and a coincidence that it's happened multiple times before.

Like this frustrated me dude. Its so lazy. You are more logical than this.

Why are you comparing career averages for a dude who has half his career on tanking teams that can inflate offensive numbers?

And saying he was the weakest link is a subjective statement. There were multiple games especially in the beginning of the season where without Green the team losses flat out.

At this point it's better you just don't mention Green in your GARm discourse until you feel comfortable being confident in him.

We don't need Debbie downers every day after every good game from Green. Just talk about other players or something. You can express your distrust after he puts up a stinker game.
