And I believe both are deserving, however you can not build a championship team with them as the centerpiece. Both are "Robin", not "Batman". Maxey has Embiid. Segun has??
Sengun destroyed Derek Lively - 31-9-6 vs 8-5-2 he soundly beat Mark Williams - 19-7-4 vs 9-6-1 He outplayed Sabonis both times we played the Kings He outplayed Wemby in our loss to the Spurs. He outplayed Looney in both games against GS He actually played evenly with Davis in our first loss to the Lakers - the difference in scoring was free throws. I can keep going, but your basic premise is wrong. I suspect your are mixing up Alpi getting beat badly on a few plays vs him getting beat badly for the whole game.
I will not get into franchise player argument...basketball is a team sports...championship teams have puzzle pieces fit together very well. Sengun is a bigger piece or if he needs a bigger piece...I don't know but that theory needs a deeper analysis and more time than our conversation here. Embiid might be a centerpiece, okay but what did he win? If you swap Embiid with Jokic, can Embiid win with Nuggets? or Jokic can win with 76ers? Winning is more about how your team functions as a unit and they are as strong as their weakest link...so the concern should not be Sengun since he is not the weakest link in my humble opinion...and ask the military folks, if you don't believe me about how the teams function...in their case, they loose lives, not a basketball game
]Sengun destroyed Derek Lively - 31-9-6 vs 8-5-2 You're really going to count Lively? he soundly beat Mark Williams - 19-7-4 vs 9-6-1 I'll give you this one but Williams dominated Sengun last yr. However, they are both young centers. He outplayed Sabonis both times we played the Kings Ive always said, he is a carbon copy of Sabonis. Same height, skill set and limitations. He outplayed Wemby in our loss to the Spurs. Everybody has been out playing Wemby He outplayed Looney in both games against GS They are the same size and Looney is a defensive center. Jeff Green can outscore Looney He actually played evenly with Davis in our first loss to the Lakers - the difference in scoring was free throws. No he didnt! Thats the game the Fakers went at Sengun 10 straight plays
You're right but you need a supreme player to win a championship. The only TEAM, I can think of to win w/o a supreme player were the Detriot Pistons.
hahaha be careful tweeting that, Isiah Thomas might come after you In all seriousness, Olajuwons, Magics, Birds, MJs, Kobes, LBJs are not available every year to every team. It makes more sense to build a team first, if you are lucky enough, you might land one of those supremes.Cross your fingers, we will land one of those or one of our youngsters will undoubtly become one.
I swear, the anti-Sengun ilk are some of the worst posters on this site. Like, they literally disbelieve reality. Sengun is clearly taller than AD, but that’s not true because cameras can be “deceptive.” Sengun says he’s grown to 6’11, but he’s “lying.” Get out of here.
