Alperen is a roller coaster lately. So happy that we finally have him and JG in a scenario where they are developing and 28-14 at the same time. I’d love to see these two play all 82 and go into another off-season like maniacs on a mission. Hold the cards. Foundational pieces. See it through.
Morning games can be a bit funky. That said, they owe us against the Cavs and the Celtics. We better see some NASTY!
Same. My life mood roller coasters with the Rockets these days. ‘Twas the best of times and the worst of times…
Main problem with Sengun is he's from Turkey, where he's seen as Michael Jordan. So most his fans see him as this mega star but in reality he's a young Luis Scola. Scola was a very serviceable big but never a superstar. Sengun's peak is what we've been seeing the last month or 2. Just a solid role player
yeah his role is simple. just lead the team in impact to winning - BPM, NET RATING, Win Shares, VORP, etc https://www.nba.com/stats/players/t...ench=&TeamID=1610612745&dir=A&sort=PLUS_MINUS https://www.nba.com/stats/players/advanced?CF=MIN*GE*20&TeamID=1610612745&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2025.html
These advanced metrics won't save you homie. The guy has been unplayable at times the last 10-15 games. All the best player praise isn't aging well
Alpi MAN'S the paint on the offensive end but this yr, he's been off. My problem with him has always been on the defensive end and his endurance. He seems to run out of gas and his legs get heavy, which effects his offense and FT shooting, which you can not have going down the stretch of games.
After four years he still doesn't have a reliable shot and as the season progresses you find yourself getting tired and not being able to physically engage with opponents as much as you used to. A shot that has not improved in four years and has regressed further over time. I don't know what he was working on all summer, but he was sharing posts with influencers on Instagram. If he had some reliable mid-range and a 35% three-point average that could draw opponents out, life would be a lot easier for him, but he clearly doesn't like to work. I'm still not hopeless about him, but it's impossible to think he'll be a superstar with this mindset. In the best case scenario, he'll have a career where he'll be selected as an all-star once or twice, and he seems more likely to be a borderline all-star than a superstar. Considering that he will not always be this age and have this energy, it seems possible that he will be a straight bench player, especially after the age of 26-27.
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but with the username of SENGUN I'd have figured you'd have a bit more faith in the kid! I can't see a future where he's a bench player (barring injuries of course) especially not before he's like 35 or something. He has too many skills and is too talented not to make it work somehow. Shoot, he's already an all-star/borderline all-NBA player and he's like 22.
There is a certain F500 CEO on the board that once told me that he wouldn’t trade Sengun for Wemby. I wonder if that is still the case.
