Jokic doesn't seem to stop Aaron Gordon and others from driving and dunking. Hakeem didn't shoot threes and we still had people driving.
Whomever is Sengun's agent in a few years, he'd better get his talking points from this thread.. Gold
Well when Sengun can score as prolifically as them then we can sacrifice driving lanes for guys we select at 2 who have elite dribble seperation ability. But until then Sengun needs to expand his range so he doesn't become a floor shrinker in the modern NBA.
Yet Jalen biggest scoring games are when he plays through Sengun. The lane will be clogged no matter who he plays with cuz no one can shoot. Like Bruno didn't clog the lane?
I'm not looking for a penpal here. But since you asked, the score was 92-72 at the 5:00 mark of the third quarter when Sengun was subbed out. That's a 20 point deficit fwiw. also fwiw Sengen was subbed into the 2nd quarter at the 7:32 mark when the score was 46-39. That is a 7 point deficit. He played until the end of the half. So during the time Sengun played in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the Rockets' deficit went from 7 points down (46-39) to 20 points down (92-72).
What does that have to do with my statement? The blazers put Lillard on the bench and we went on a 20 point run to get it close. As soon as they put him back in it was the same story no matter who was in the game for the Rockets. As we got blown out again.
And the final score (without Sengun) was a 17 point deficit. So we "gained" a whopping 3 points. Your point was? There are plenty of games where Sengun had a positive +/-. Here are the Rockets players this season, sorted by Win Shares. Just the facts.
So, the disingenuous part of your post is where you attribute the Rockets' run to Sengun being on the bench, when the truth is that it had much more to do with Lillard being out. We were down by 16 still when Lillard went to the bench. (oh wow, we made up 4 points while Sengun was out, amazing, must have been Sengun's fault). The lead got cut down to 8 - then Lillard came back and immediately hit a 3-pointer (can't blame Sengun, he was on the bench): Lillard actually then screwed up a couple of plays, we hit a couple of lucky shots, so we got the lead down to 5. But then Lillard hit another three, and a dunk (can't blame Sengun, he was on the bench), and it was all downhill from there. It literally had **** ALL to do with Sengun being on the court or not. Arguably, the lead could have gotten cut down even more with Sengun in and Lillard not in there. P.S.: I forgot the obligatory:
Look at this baldy company man lolololol! his face getting convulsions talking about alpi....LOL alpi is a hero still thriving surrounded by these clowns!
P.S.: There is another element to this: It is related to standing up for your players. Eubanks acted in a very disrespectful way towards Sengun. Rather than giving your own young player a chance to "get him back" on the court by scoring some points on the guy, by benching your own player for the rest of the game, you are sending an awful message of distrust and lack of loyalty to your player, your team, and the entire NBA. Shame on Silas.
This guy needs to go, with Silas. I don't know what his name is, but this stood out to me - the "company line" between Silas and this guy is to ostracize and demean Sengun every chance they get. Edit: I looked him up, looks like his claim to fame is that he was a video coordinator with the Bobcats for 5 years and then an assistant coach with Orlando for a couple of years. Losing franchises. https://nbacoaches.com/rick-higgins/ His college player profile: https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/199012/rick-higgins He went undrafted. No own achievements to speak of, as a player or coach. A "yes man" to Silas. He needs to go.
We all know that Silas is a terrible coach and is very unfair to Sengun… but this is what I’ve been talking about! You can’t build a defense around him! Trust me, another coach is gonna do this when we’re trying to win close games, as well as the playoffs.
We will find out. You may be right, you may be wrong. But we will see another coach for this team next season, that much seems pretty certain.
