My metrics? I don’t think you understand statistics or facts very well. It’s ok little guy, you’ll get there one day. Just continue to find ways to cope having Alp as the clear, no doubt best player on the team.
Which ones did you create? I didn't know they were your metrics, i will give you credit when i bring them up!
There's a contingent on here who don't understand/don't trust/don't believe math/numbers which is kinda weird but whatever. I teach math so i see that everyday lol
You throw out meaningless stats then can't fully elaborate. Sengun is NOT the 2nd best defender on this roster. If you believe that stat then you're stupider than I thought
Im sorry that you can’t differentiate facts from your opinion. Alp factually and statistically is the 2nd best defender on the team currently. Also a top 3 center in the league defensively. Cope buddy
Only you think that. Jalen was benched far more than anyone last season, I guess he’s pretty far down on Imes list by your logic? Ime and the team knows who the guy is on the team. It’s Sengun
Someone recently seemed to insinuate that "some people within the Rockets think Alpi is selfish". What do you think?
I don't think he was particularly enamored with KPJ. Predicted he might get traded. More of a Jalen and Jabari fan originally, I think.
Source? He has never played selfishly and that's all I care about. It'd be hard for someone being so selfish that it manifests itself as a problem in the locker room, but not on the court. I know selfish people, it will show up everywhere. I'll say this however - I think a lot of folks like to imagine this team getting along super well perpetually in kumbaya mode, but I'd be very surprised if some of those guys, all competitive ambitious 20 year olds, drafted at super high positions, are perfectly at peace with a guy drafted that low coming in and taking the spotlight. Nothing on them necessarily, and doesn't mean they are mean to each other etc, but I'd be very, very surprised if there isn't a lot of behind the scenes drama. I've seen a lot of fans call him selfish but it's mostly because he's shadowed their favorite player, so not surprised some stuff like that gets out.
Source was not disclosed, it was an insinuation on Playback, and came via the same person who at some point insinuated that "Rockets internal data" said Alpi was the worst pick and roll defender in the league. Probably not worth debating. I was just curious if anyone was under the impression that he played selfishly. It wasn't my impression.
The rockets have found ways of removing Sengun from PnR defense altogether this year, moving him to defend poor shooting forwards and acting more as a help defender at the rim. But, I wouldn't believe any source that says rockets think Sengun is selfish. The rockets, and most teams in general, don't talk about their players that way.
They probably heard it from rocketchamp. Kidding aside, typical JG stan talking points. They started with this selfish angle this year saying he sets selfish screens or smth or is a selfish player because he looks to score, glazing Steven Adams who moves like molasses in the court and literally doesn't do anything else. The state of folks who have positioned themselves as opinion leaders or even journalists in our fandom is shameful.
Most possessions defending Rollman on the team and is in the 83rd percentile league wide allowing .74 points per attempt. Most possessions defending the Ballhandler on the team and is in the 72nd percentile league wide allowing .77 points per attempt. Elite defending the PNR, for a big man. Most defensive possessions on the Rockets
Yep, my eye test tells me he's greatly improved on this this season. He's legit becoming a pretty good defender.
