Sengun should be the one the Rockets extend. I still think he's part of the future without an extension this year.
Makes sense to me. I'm not mad, and I don't think Sengun is either. But barring a catastrophic injury, I am certain he will get the max at the beginning of next season's free agency - hopefully from the Rockets. If not from the Rockets, then from another team.
It’s actually a less thought of but massive benefit of hitting on a low pick. You get a max player who counts for very little against the cap for a season
Lmao what did he overcome? He played 20 mpg as a 19 year old mid round pick and started every game as a 20 year old. Pretty rare someone picked that low gets that much playing time
Exactly. The hate Sengun got was over the top the first two and a half years, he basically had to play like an all-star for most people to quiet down. As everyone else was getting 30+ minutes a night, playing matador defense and running around jacking shots, Sengun was determined to get playing time even as Silas and his cronies publicly berated him and wanted Bruno for his beloved "lob threat". The fact he got any playing time is a miracle, and I never cheered harder than when Ime, a real coach, finally arrived and set the house in order.
You sure? When the entire team STILL sucks behind 3 point line, people are talking about Sengun's need to practice 3s...not only that but what about "he can't score two feet away from the basket" complaints, when he was dunking every opportunity he got...which was never a whole a lot... Yeah, everyone knew he was good on offense...my ass!
I don't recall seeing quotes from people in the 76ers organisation constantly with a negative spin on it talking about Maxey. That's the key difference in the two. You're comparing essentially apples to a BMW. Watching all these clips. God I've missed the Sengun beauty in my life.
They say Alperen Sengun fans are crazy, and some of them are, but there were some WILD ASS TAKES out there. Some wild-ass hit pieces too...
