In his new routine he talks to the ball before the game. He finally discovered that the ball is getting nervous being told what to do in front of the whole crowd.
I don't mind him missing shots when he's doing other things defensively and passing the ball, like tonight. He's been remarkably consistent to start the season, and it's just a little rough patch. No biggie.
Man what an atrocious game from Sengun. This is like 4 of his last 6 games or something? I hope this stretch is an anomaly and not his hot start. Anyway if we're looking for silver linings, at least he didn't have a total collapse this game. Still engaged, still playing tough, still playing great defense. And it was enough to keep him in the game, too, he didn't get benched. So I guess it's something.
I'm thinking it's more to do with the recent opponents, he really does struggle with long athletic bigs. Grizz twice with JJJ and Biyombo, then Wemby before that...not an excuse because he needs to figure it out as these are players he might see in a playoff series.
Disagreed. He was 1/10 in the first quarter his worst quarter ever, 5/10 in the 2nd and, 6-7/10 in the 3rd and 4th because he played defense and scored some pts. I'd say it's a 5/10 game from him. People will remember the 1st q tho.
I don't believe he simply had a hot start. He is that good. But right now he is in a slump and Memphis was well prepared to defend him. He doesn't necessarily struggle against long players but he still lacks strength. And Biyombo is actually a solid and strong defender. His defense is the only reason why he has been in the league for so long. He is ten years older than Alpi and compared to him he has that old man strength. Hope Alpi learns from the experience.
Athletic big men are his boogie men. He used to struggle vs big guys too (Nurkic, Jokic). He figured that out and he'll figure this out too.
tweets are showing up as an available. Posting these screen grabs from Abel. We used to say this last year, that other than KM, it got to0 stationary when the ball reached Sengun in the post.
If the Rockets have been winning despite our "franchise" and best player Sengun not playing well, then how was he our franchise to begin with?
Had a Raptor fan unironically tell me Scottie is better than Sengun and that Alperen is the beneficiary of having a better team around him.
Oof the irony of that statement. Especially when FVV and Scottie had friction and FVV chose not to re-sign. Nurse also left and is thriving right now with the 76ers.
