My friend Nuggets were successful when Sengun was sitting. Last night, Jokic never beated Sengun. I believe you watched different match last night. Sengun is not only the best player of Rockets, but the best young center of NBA. Rockets won this match because Sengun won the physical battle between him and Jokic. If Sengun taken out of this equation, Rockets have no solution for Jokic...and could not win this match. I dont understand why you some fans undervalue your best player.. Interesting and funny You have maybe NBA's best young center for the coming 8-10 years, a future hall of fame potential player and still discussing him..
So the Rockets win despite Sengun's terrible 17p. (50% FG), 10r. 7a. (1TO), and +11 in 33 minutes statline? I won't even mention how bad he was on the defensive end; he allowed the B2B regular season and finals MVP to score easy 23 points with 26 field goal attempts.
My head is clear but I am not sure about yours anymore. 1. Name me a name to replace Sengun. (Be realistic!) 2. If Sengun was not playing/defending Jokic, who would defend him in this current roster? 3. Do you think that a high flying rim runner defend Jokic and other centers better and do all the things that Sengun does at the same time? Would that player bring better value to Rockets table? Who is that player? Is he available? At what cost? 4. If Sengun played the 3rd and 4th bad, how did the rest of the team do? 5. So you blame all the negative on Sengun but all the credit belongs to others? 6. Are you aware of your bias? What is it? Because he is a foreigner? I dare to say because he is not black? Because he is Muslim? What is it? Why you really don't like him? 7. Are you a troll? You are delusional!
Who frakking cares. It was one game. Anyone but Sengun with the same performance against The Joker would've been hailed as the second coming of Batman. Sengun is the franchise player.
Now this guy had conviction about Alpi, love the passion he expressed and damn he was spot on. Not many draftnicks make these kind of predictions and see them come true. Well done Tom!
Sorry but posts like this make it virtually impossible to take Sengunatics seriously. It's cool to be a superficial fanboi but you should probably try to stay away from any substantive discussion on the sport.
Other than the fact the very next year he put in one of the most dominant playoff runs ever, winning a second championship, sure “he fell off quickly.” I wouldn’t trade that second championship run for 10 Shaquille O’Neals. Best sports memory in my life.
How can one have a bad quarter if he's not allowed touch the ball the whole quarter? We stopped using him in the 2nd half. Do you think you are bad employee for not working in holidays?
I had to click "Show Ignored Content" - this guy is one of the most miserable twats on this board, who for whatever reason hates our franchise player. That's why.
The guy was spot on but he wasn't the only one suggesting Alp at #1. One of the main media guy (I don't remember the name now, 3 covid booster effect) listed him at top at that time. Sure someone will remember and put the name/article.
These are the questions any Sengun critic has to answer before I can take them seriously. So much of his criticism is based on some perfect idea composed of things like selective Dream memories, highlights of other players that hit the dopamine switch, and constrained thinking that only looks at how teams in the past were constructed instead of what could be. There's no perfect player and never has been. Basketball is ever-evolving. Championship teams can't be championship teams until they are. You need a great center. No, a great wing. No, a great trio. No, great team defense. No, great 3-point shooting. No, great passing. And so on. With very few exceptions, the only constant is that you need at least one of the best players on the planet and a complementary team around them. Sengun is good. Really good. Sengun is young. Really young--still. Yes, he needs to mature mentally and physically. Yes, he's still learning the game. Yes, he needs to fix his free throws. But man, he has an irreplaceable skill set and an extraordinarily high basketball IQ. Of course you tinker around and see what kind of team you can build with him. And as a Rockets fan, I'm happy to go along for the ride and see where we end up.
