Yeah, he completely disappeared down the stretch. 0/4 FG including 3 shots in the paint and 1 at the elbow. Blowing back to back free throws was embarrassing (he's usually god for at least one). It's like once Jokic finally got rolling (4/7 FG...3/4 FT in the 4thQ) Sengun just folded. The missed bunnies are a little concerning but yes it's the free throw struggles that can become a real problem later on. I wonder if it's starting to become a mental thing for him.
17-10-7 and a W against one of the best Centers of all time, and we are criticizing his performance. Bruno Fernando.
It starting to look that way. Delivering on a +0.500 team as a top honcho… I’m just mad about these horrendous wasted two years. I’d feel a lot more comfortable about giving max if I had more data from meaningful games than just a single season…
Alpe: Nikola, we never won on the road.... What are the chances we won here tonight....oh wait..hahahaa
Those of you that don't like him always blow things out of proportion . Jokic had already made 2 of those shots before Alpi got back in the game with 6:56 minutes to go. And the fact coach kept him when I wanted Jabari to come in for the free throw shooting says more. again, look at the shots taken by Alpi. His teammates were in scramble mode. No pace. Once it becomes frantic mode basketball it becomes contagious. The leader, FVV, should have calmed everyone but even then it can be too late, Orlando vs Houston 1995.. Houston vs Warriors game 7. The FT issue is a problem and he has plenty of seasons to work on it. 21. Just like Green. And barely months older than Jabari.
Jokic had to wait til Sengun left the game to get himself going. Dude should have listened to take the last game and this game off. Oh well.
“Hey Jokic, they had me coming off the bench for Bruno Fernando and said he was better. Ha, can you believe that?” Jokic: *shakes head*
That was a weird game for Jokic. He didn’t seem aggressive at all. He had bursts during that comeback, but for 90% the game he looked like he was playing with one hell of a hangover. The biggest difference was we kept him from getting those 2-3 attempt put backs. He got fewer AND also missed most of them. Alpi once again does an excellent job of moving the ball. I can’t wait till he adds a reliable 3. He’s not getting much bait on those pump takes on the perimeter and he’s so good when he gets to drive on bigs with the offense spread and then someone can cut or leave it spread for usually an easy dunk down the middle.
Sengun is the best thing after 2021 in this franchise.. We had a chance to get NBA's best young center #16 place, OKC's gift to us.. His ceiling is Jokic..That's very clear... And this Excites me most. We have taken future's best center. His FT's seem a problem a little bit, but l believe its a mental problem.more. Because he is normally a good FT shooter.. l believe it will come to normal in a few matches.
“Hey Jokic, @Clutch said I am not the best player on the Rockets! Can you believe that?” Jokic: *shakes head* [
Are you really trying to argue he had a good 4th quarter or just desperately trying to avoid acknowledging he had a bad one? And miss me with the "like him/don't like him" rhetoric. It's irrelevant because one could just as easily argue that those of you who slurp him will always twist and turn to find ways to avoid holding him accountable the way you do the rest of the squad. The immutable fact is he disappeared at the end of the game with zero points (0/4), zero rebounds, and zero assists plus missed a couple of big free throws in the 4th. The team was still able to pull out a significant road win against a formidable opponent without him bringing anything to the table down the stretch. That's a good thing. So unless you find something factually inaccurate about my comment, just accept the truth and keep it moving.
