My heart says yes but my head says too early to make a prediction of that altitude...I can only hope...sorry for being a Debbie Downer!
I hate to chime in on others conversations but does he mean Top 5 on the Rockets or the NBA? If he's saying the NBA, then you're being a REALIST, not a Debbie Downer.
Let me prove how Jalen outperforms #28 in various categories. Feel of the game= JG Whining on the court= #28 Scoring= JG Ball Handling= JG Jumpshot=JG Elite Defense=JG Court Vision=JG Coachability=JG Stardom vibe=JG a DAWG on the court=JG Tough shoot makin=JG Clutchness=JG Arguing with Refs for no reason=#28 Dancing around the rim= JG Lightning fast first step= JG Off court philanthropy= JG Flopping= #28
I hope you are right and he excels in all those areas beyond any expectations and soon...I hope he can be a super-star, not "only" an all-star...A super-star of better-than-Jokic caliber...I hope he can get us multiple rings with the other youngsters, like Jalen, like Jabari, Tari, Amen, Cam and others...I really hope so!
I don't know who Madison Moore is but a lot of what Ive been saying he is saying. He needs a 3pt shot and he lacks length. He can improve the shot, its the length that is going to be difficult. Also, defensively he is going to have to play better against taller players.

HOUSTON — If there is one person who can attest to the similarities Alperen Şengün shares with Nikola Jokić, it's Houston Rockets veteran Jeff Green. He spent two seasons with the Denver Nuggets and played a vital role in helping the franchise win their first NBA championship in June. As a former teammate of Jokić, Şengün has picked Green's mind with questions about the two-time league MVP. But while sharing information, Green has encouraged Şengün to be better than Jokić instead of becoming a carbon copy. "There are comparisons," Green said. "They are both talented guys who can do a lot of things on the floor with their size. But my message to Alpi is, 'don't try and be Joker.' If so, 'be better than him.'" ------------- Jeff Green is a smart veteran. He is not delusional. He has seen many players come and go in the NBA. This is not a meaningless statement. @Clutch
Poll makers are anti-Jalen.. for some reason. Mostly it's about jealousy and envy. Not only he is a beast on the court but also very handsome and got that superstar style, like a top model.
If he stays injury-free and "the front office" doesn't mess up, I am certain he will be a top 5 Rocket of all time.
In my humble opinion, he already achieved that. I am suspecting you disagree; what's the hold-up? Which 5 players are better than Alperen on the current roster?
I think he projects Alpie to be top 5; not assessing him to be top5 now. Well, I agree it is ambitious but I hope he is right...I really do! I also know he can't win championships on his own so I want him to be a great championship puzzle piece for this team. I hope Jalen and Jabari and others will be other pieces of that puzzle, too. Which one of those young players will be the bigger piece of that puzzle? I don't know, yet. I don't even know this group will produce a championship caliber 'puzzle." I don't know but I can tell you Alpie has a better chance than others at this point. I say let's continue having this conversation at the end of this season and next season.
Seriously, what's your take of Alpie? or rather current roster? the young players we have? where do you see the team in 5 years?
