I remember it as only if it were yesterday - a few fans commenting about how Sengun actually has a good feel defensively - and 99% of the issues with his defense were caused by the perimeter 'defenders'. My oh my what a difference attitude, effort and coaching makes. Boy this bandwagon bus filled up super quick this season.
NBA stats are so funny man. They are so oddly specific. I bet there is a dude who has averaged 21/8/6 with 55+ FG% within his first 3 year itl. So what makes Sengun's +1 reb more special than that dude's +1 assist?
There hasn’t been. Even if you lower the averages to 20/6/6, no one has done it while shooting above 55%. What Sengun is doing is unprecedented.
I think they're abusing this to get more social media interactions. Half of the posts on Twitter about NBA are always this kind of meaningless statistics.
I wont be selling my Alpi All NBA stocks anytime soon. I find the last section very unnecessary and out of place.
Woah, just realized it was the official NBA account posting this, not some obscure fan account. Our franchise player is getting recognized.
That was the point of the post. Theyre elevating him to star status or at least attempting to. Only good things can come from this.
Hello better calls from the refs! At least I hope so. TBH, I wish all players were called the same and nobody got "star" treatment but we all know that is not the case.
I like these kinds of stats. Not because they mean anything. More just on me liking the NBA. Also like stats and numbers. So in short I enjoy them.
well of course! And it is rare to find players that are good in all 3 major categories. Even kpj joined some ‘elite company’ with his 19-5-5. It is remarkable that unlike kpj, Sengun is posting those numbers while making the whole offense better.
Yep, these random cutoff numbers are used to fit some narrative. It's the same as the triple-double thing. It's like 10 rebounds is 100x more impressive than 9 rebounds. I've learn to ignore them. We don't need these things to know Sengun is special. It's probably started by Morey when analytics was still a cool thing few people pay attention to. He would post some random stats that made our players look impressive.
