If he plays around 35 minutes his stats would be 22/14/8. Otherwise send him to Adriatic league to learn (can't learn basketball in China).
Sengun isn't going to average 22 pts, just stop it. He will get games where he scores a sht ton and games where he scores 10. Expecting him to average 22 pts is crazy and unrealistic especially when he lacks a 3 pt stroke
Best from '21 are: Cade Cunningham Jalen Green Franz Wagner Alperen Sengun Josh Giddey The only one I feel confident has true superstar upside is Cade. For the other four, maybe there's a chance, but it's small. More likely those guys end up somewhere between good starter and all-star, but not like, All-NBA first team level superstars. Don't sleep on Cade. What he did as a 20-year-old rookie puts him in rare company. I don't really factor in this season. Small sample size and he was already playing hurt (stress fracture is a repetitive injury that builds over time).
This is the list I quoted in '21 re-draft but Cade has no chance to be better than the trio. Ranking: Joint 1st: Giddey-Sengun 3rd: Wagner Joint 4th: JGreen-Cade. I am talking about non-biased, proper ranking. Otherwise you might hear lots of spectacular things about Cade. Do you remember '22 Rising-Star games? He was given MVP award, a total bs, even our very own Tate played better than him. If we compare Giddey&Cade stats : Cade: 41.6% FG 17.8 ppg 5.6 rpg 5.6 apg Giddey: 45.9 % FG 14.9 ppg 7.8 rpg 6.3 apg Cade scored more because he was given freedom for throwing bricks as much as he wanted. Cade was already behind the trio before injury and hopefully he catches one of them if he improves a lot. OKC has the best backcourt in NBA (SGA/Giddey/Vasa Micic) and we might witness Giddey's first All-Star appearance this year. Cade's? Who knows.
I'm just going by watching the tape, I don't like to read too much into statistics the first couple years in the league, I tend to trust the eye test more. Same reason I'm still super high on Jabari even though he definitely struggled statistically. I think Cade will take a major step forward this season and I expect smaller improvements from other guys in his class.
I don't want Sengun to be the focus of the offense, but I do want to see him playing for a good coach in a well-thought out and adaptive system where he can be the focus if the situation demands it.
I think Malone has to get credit for trusting in Jokic early then......it is rare in this business. I cannot think of another coach, maybe Pop or Kerr. Or MDA. Zenmaster. You got to be more than a coach, an innovator at the forefront, avantgardist.
Giddey is why I'm optimistic about Amen. Passing doesn't grow on trees for 6'8 guys. Also Giddeys defense is pretty bad, I believe Amen is a much better defender already
I juant to play. 1. Mobley 2. Green 3. Wagner 4. Sengun 5. Giddey (Giddey is Cade without shooting 19fgs) 6. Cade
If Ime trusts him and lets him cook, I think 18/10/5 is quite realistic. There are only three other centers who top these numbers as of now: Jokic, Embiid, Sabonis.
