Some of these guys are just really massive (Valanciunas, Jokic). I think it's good for him to not get that big, but keep his agility.
His fans are the worst. I also absolutely hate what he brings defensively at the 5.. if he had the tools to work with, I wouldn’t be so critical. I still watch his highlights, I still go crazy when he posterize people.
His shoulder height is ass.. it’s like how @cmoak1982 said, his neck is long as ****. He wasn’t lying about that lol
Only if his agility can be leveraged against the majority of the starting centers. If it can’t then it’s a moot point.
I was very high on him offensively. He’s definitely better than I thought he’d be at this point in his career
That's more about his weight i think. You gain 5 pounds for every inch after 5'9. It won't really slow him down but if he wants to go full Zion in offseason that's another thing. I think he said he's 264 pounds he's still 20ish pounds lighter than Jokic and around Vuc weight. He needs to turn them into muscles tho. I've seen videos of him in gym he's trying to bulk up. I think he knows that he can't get bullied in the post anymore. Can't let centers walk you down.
I see two traps off Garuba and one off Jabari. These traps are basically gambles on Green’s poor handles, this is not the Steph Curry gravity field, even though it looks similar in these clips where he doesn’t cough up the ball…
Green definitely doesn't have a "poor handle". Jabari even though his percentage is low isn't someone you play off. The league knows he is a young shooter which means a couple of clean looks can make him get hot. He's a natural shooter who just started off his career slow. Teams aren't going to play off someone they know has the ability to get hot from 3 unlike someone like Garuba or Sengun. Sengun is the largest culprit in this team in allowing teams to double Green on the pnr. I can give you countless clips. I can even give you data showing he's in the 90th percentile in the NBA in scoring gravity.
Meh people have always overrated handles. From the way people talk, you would think that people like Curry / Kyrie / Harden are the norm.
Look at Valanciunas when he got drafted. Very different body type still lol. Alpi will fill out more.
I have a dream that one day fans will one day stop using other players to project how another will develop and that we will let that player simply be their own selves without bias or prejudice as each person is a wholly unique individual.
C’mon guys, you’re completely delusional if you think anyone would trap Jalen Green so far away from the basket for any reason other than try to force a turnover. What’s the threat really in these clips? He’s not a particularly good ball handler, teams would gamble and trap. Turnover and an easy basket. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work, nobody is gonna sweat too much about compromising their defense against a trash team like us… You’re so clueless if you think that there is some grand strategy to stop Jalen Green 40ft from the basket that teams deploy.
