Sengun finished #9 All-time NBA Under 21 rebounder, just following Anthony Davis, 13 rebounds short: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nba-most-rebounds-by-nba-player-under-age-21 If not injury it seems that Alp will be something #4 to #7 Under 22 All time rebounder list at the end of next season. Not bad. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nba-most-rebounds-by-nba-player-under-age-22
Given the injury history of players with such height I am very scared of Wemby especially since there are reports he is still growing. I do not think he will have a long career.
U want to b th3 team that draft the next big thing not be the one that passed on it. The spurs are tanking for him
We have been tanking for him too. I have a really bad feeling he will not help any team after a few years in the league especially if he keeps growing. Yea we have to take him if we get #1 but it sure scares the crap out of me. That is why I would not be upset with the #2 pick.
I agree that he is a massive risk. Whatever team he ends up on needs to be very careful with him while he adjusts to the pace and physicality of the NBA. Throughout his career I expect heavy load management and doubt he plays over 50+ games a season not because of injury but load management.
I don't want to trade Sengun but it would be interesting to get an idea as to how much the rest of the NBA thinks he's theoretically worth. Same with Green, Eason, Smith, and Christopher. Oh, and KPJ too, except actual value. (Seems like we will learn what KMJ can bring in a trade before next season.)
If we DO get Wemby, I want to see us run elbow PnR between Wemby and Sengun like we saw with Josh Smith and Dwight Howard.
I will say this, I can see Sengun and Wemby playing together on the same team a lot more than I can see KPJ and Scoot Henderson playing together on the same team. I still think it's going to be a bit tricky to manage the lineups when all three are available. I don't really see Jabari as a small forward long-term, even though he can probably play it for another year or two as he continues to bulk up. Wemby's probable load management is good point to consider, however. I suppose I can see them each playing roughly 32 minutes per game. I think they'd all play well off the ball, so it's kind of a good problem to have, as opposed to trying to juggle two ball-dominant players.
The only starter over 7'4 to never deal with foot problems was Mark Eaton. Smits made it through 7 seasons before he got got. Bryce young will be the second smallest qb to ever suit up, Eddie Lebaron at 5'7 who also won a bronze medal back in the 1400s. Here or on another team, I will be wishing those 2 rid the curse of their size.
In that video, you can see the impact of Dream's lessons on Sengun, at least on offense. The synergy between Alpi and KMJ is crazy good. I've seen some chatter about Martin Jr. being moved before next season, but I hope we keep him. I'm assuming we keep Alpi Sengun. Guess we'll have to wait and see. It's going to be difficult to keep as much young talent as we clearly have with tanking in the rear-view mirror, as it should be. We'll be adding some veteran talent and drafting even more young talent, hopefully with pick #1 or pick #2. This should be a wild summer before it's over.
Sengun explicitly showed Bari to post up when he has a mismatch and then get him the ball, or pointed others to get the ball to him on a regular basis. Something KPJ must have been doing.
I think it is also developing with Jalen. There is literally only one player where that chemistry is not there.
Some people are coming around and openly admitting they were wrong on Sengun. I expect that to happen more next season.
