Haha, gotta love it when someone posts a link he doesn't understand, and lies about what it says.

First of all, he is not "near the bottom (of) the list".

He is pretty much in the middle of page 2 (of 3), ahead of lob threat/defensive specialist Clint Capela, ahead of Vucevic, defensive specialist Poeltl, John Collins, Sabonis, etc.

    upload_2023-4-3_16-26-36.png

Secondly, he has a better defensive rating than Jabari Smith in this "more sophisticated defensive dashboard" as well.

    upload_2023-4-3_16-29-47.png

Thirdly, this is all a function of a terrible coach, no defensive system to speak of, horrible guard defenders, so we will see how things will turn out with a real coach.

Oh, this is so much fun - let's have another look at @larsv8's "more sophisticated defensive dashboard".

    upload_2023-4-3_16-33-39.png

Look who is ranked 188 out of 263 guards and has a SIGNIFICANTLY worse defensive rating than Alpi in @larsv8's "more sophisticated defensive dashboard"...the only Rockets guards who are ranked even worse are Nix, Christopher and Hudgins.

Pleased to see that Jalen Green has improved somewhat and only has a slightly worse defensive rating than Alpi in this "sophisticated defensive dashboard".

Aaand...here is @larsv8's "more sophisticated defensive dashboard", filtered just for Rockets players.

    upload_2023-4-3_16-38-3.png

Not sure how "sophisticated" it really is, and I am aware that @larsv8 was just desperately clutching at straws, but Alpi is the second best defender of the Rockets' starters in this "sophisticated defensive dashboard" behind KMJ. KPJ is by far the worst of the starters.

Thanks for describing your state of mind.

It's hilarious how you tried to use a "sophisticated defensive dashboard" to back up your asinine claims, only to fall flat on your face.

SOFs are in need of some hugs today. Cant wait for Alpie to get traded to a "more deserving franchise" so these fake ass fans can move along.

With that stat, Alp is better than every starter on the rockets outside of KJ. By a lot.
Only Tate and Garuba are better than him for the rest of the rockets

That would match the eye test of most unbiased and reasonable observers.

OK, so main point of your post is that Green can improve but Alperen can't because you said so. Got it pal. ;)

If you want Sengun traded bc it’s what’s best for him, you’re a fake ass fan.

Luke Kornet is better defensive player than Myles Turner according to the stat he posted. LMAO.

You are obviously very emotional, and I am sorry that this upsetting to you. I think if you took more rational stances, you wouldn't be so upset and aggressive all the time.

Looks like you are trying to invalidate the unflattering data by pointing to potential outliers, so lets look closer at those. This is probably a fools errand, because I am fairly certain you are not sophisticated enough to change your opinions, but hey lets give it the ole college try.

    - The comments on pages doesn't make sense. There are two pages of 50, and one of 4. Sengun is in the bottom 30% or so.
    - I already spoke on Capella, who I have thought of as a decent defender in the past, and his performance this year is a bit of outlier .
    - You seem to think Poetl, Collins and Sabonis are defensive specialists? That isn't a coherent sentence or maybe I am just not following the point you are trying to make, if you even have one. While I haven't watched those guys on day to day basis, the suspicion is that they are also performing terrible defensively. This wouldn't be surprising as they are all currently on average or god awful defensive teams.

Not sure what Jabari has to do with this? Jabari is a rookie and has been objectively terrible for 3/4s of the season. Jabari analysis is based on what he could be, not what he has done this. He has the defensive pedigree and the physical tools, needs experience more than anything else.

Ah yes, probably someone else's fault. Silas and Hollins are probably asking Sengun to foul at a historic rate or too not contest drives. Why go with the obvious answer, when you can try to blame someone else.

This is trying to deflect, has nothing to do with Sengun or his terrible defense. Most guys on the roster right now, I don't envision as long term pieces, so really doesn't matter how terrible Sengun is, among the list of other terrible defenders.

Just like wanting him traded at all. No real rocket fan should want one of our best players traded

I want him traded to upgrade our team bc I don’t think we can win with him at the 5. Teams give up some of their best to improve.

I will say one thing I have been extremely disappointed with from Alpi, and that's his free throw shooting. It has been awful the last couple of months. This is one thing where you can really not blame anyone but him alone! He should really work on fixing that this summer. That, and working with a strength/athletics coach, and working on jumpers/threes.

So much room for improvement, but no reason to believe he cannot get there. Stop with the chains and mobster outfit, focus on fundamentals.
