That is pathetic. He apparently cannot see himself for the Negative Nellie that he is. He should let Amen lovers praise and dream about their favorite player while he loves Alpi. Folks who ride high horses are usually bigger jerks than the people they criticize. I wish people like him would stop being divisive, but at least he's on Twitter and off CF; to the benefit of CF.
Gotta keep it real — Alpi got that gravity on the court, no doubt. But now KD's in the mix too, and he brings his own gravity. That’s big. So with KD pulling defenders his way, Alpi might have a clearer path to the rim. Could really open things up for him to attack more comfortably. Now, last season, Coach Udoka had Alpi running the offense — he was the hub, the center of it all. But this year, he used him more like a finisher. Thing is, Alpi ain’t quite built for that role just yet. He ain’t at that level as a closer. But here’s the thing — with KD likely takin’ over that finisher role next season, Alpi might slide back into that old spot as the offensive anchor. And if that happens? We might see that real Alpi again. The one that makes the whole thing go.
I think the Durant threat will open up a lot of space for Sengun and Amen...both will feast because defenders cannot help off Durant.
I agree with this take. Amen is a superior player to JG and both Sengun and Amen are only going to get better together with more experience. Both are still young. Imagine the spacing KD is going to create for both, watch their numbers get even better.
Can we stop with the "Player X" is "the" Rockets franchise player concept completely? The NBA is more star-centric than most professional sports leagues, but most serious contending teams have more than one more key anchor to the franchise. Amen and Sengun can BOTH be franchise players. I hope we have multiple guys like that. There doesn't always need to be one clearly dominant player, and it's OK if we have guys who excel at different things. Look at the Warriors. Were Steph, Klay and Draymond all not critical pieces to that team's success? Obviously Steph was in a tier of his own, but I'd argue all three are "franchise players." Let's stop the in-fighting between Rockets fans and just appreciate all the special talent we have on the roster right now!
Now that Jalen is finally gone, I'm hopeful the toxicity here will decline and fan cliques stop whining and shouting at each other.
It's not about a 3-point shot for Alpi, it's about becoming deadly at mid-range and rediscovering his touch within 5 feet.
I would love to see the offense go through Alpi. And Ime, let the guy loose sometimes. He plays best when he's freed to orchestrate. Great take btw!
I really think that's going to happen a lot more here on out. Now that they both don't need to try to pump up a busted #2's stock for the rest of the NBA to see for trade purposes.
