this whole thread is some kind of agenda if you look it that way :)

but of course i also get your point. if houston was lakers, knicks etc, i would kind of get to idea of trading sengun, because you are very attractive team/market that can easily get free agents, other stars etc. but if i remember correctly, the last would-be superstar thanked the gods of his ancestors on live television that houston rockets didn't pick him. in that case, i would be more protective of current young prospects that i have, but that's me.

While I agree Sengun is then franchise player. I would not call Amens performance average. He started off with 3 bad games that were very uncharacteristic. But I could make an argument he was our best player for the last 4 games. He found his stride and future is bright.

After watching Alpi's touch go south on him for most of this season, and being perplexed every time I saw another of those flat-footed shots, I went to YouTube and found this from his rookie year. The difference is striking. I mean, he never got a lot of lift on those shots, but he definitely wasn't nailed to the floor. I wonder whether this change was intentional or if just got lax with his practice habits. Regardless, you'd think Ben Sullivan would work with him on this, right?

(Go to about 3:15 in the video to see his jumpers.)

He kind of did before Adams came back from injury.

Amen is not physical imposing like Adams. But he would be a better lob threat.

Kinda hard to get assists when the supporting cast are bricklayers... those were decent looks they were getting, but turtled and turned the ball over instead.

He provides rebounding. On defense he won’t be exploited like Adams and on offense he probably will develop a decent shot. Fighting with the big guys will be Sengun’s responsibility.

Sengun amen Jabari is a good starting point imo. But you need two good ball handlers to complement them. We only had fvv and he lacks the drive and dish and not a good mid range threat either.

Not everyone was on the Sengun bandwagon this postseason.

"I was rooting for the Rockets" - Go root for a self-enema.

And Whiney Sabonis? From Methhead Zach Lowe? REALLY? I mean at least I know where Minkus from boy meets world wound up after growing up and getting uglier.

This MF just turn the game off when the Rockets are playing defense? Sabonis has no chance denying Curry the ball and forcing multiple misses on key late game possessions as he's ISO'd 1 on 1 w/ him on the perimeter. Alpi did that. He had a disappointing offensive series but his defense was just spectacular.

Nice to see the expectations for a 22 year old first time all-star are aligned w/ reality. Dumbasses FOH

That's because Sengun got more than fouled.
For example, What Hartenstein did to Jokic last night was thuggish Draymond style. "defended" him to a 7/17 fg. 40%.
Draymond against Joker in 2022 playoffs, where Draymond ' defended" him to 43%, 23 points on 22 shots average for the 2 first games. defended in quotes because their is good physical defense and then there is bloodsport.

The league completely allows post defenders to conduct themselves like prisoners who are shielded by corrupt prison guards. Jokic after game 2 vs the Warriors was like F this, I'm going to take this outside where refs can't protect Draymond. Went on to shoot like 60% from mid range and threes the rest of the series staying a way from the paint. Lost in 5 but still. That's a luxury Alpi doesn't have right now. Playoffs are physical for post players going up against old head thugs. My gripe is why does it change when it gets to the perimeter players when you can't even breathe on Curry or Butler or SGA. It's just plain stupid. It's been happening since that Wade vs Mavs finals in 2006. let everyone be physical, stars or no stars.

The median of bad games and good games is average.....he is not wrong.

However, closing it out strong is the most important thing.

Can’t be mad about Sengun’s performance in the playoffs. His shooting was subpar. His intensity, effort, defense, rebounding, and toughness were not.

He did not wane when things got tough, he kept battling even when he couldn’t buy a jump shot. I am very confident Alpi will work on his shooting touch all summer and come back better. He did it last season with his defense.

Do everything you can to get Naz Reid or John Collins and move Jabari to SF and Amen to PG. Amen, Jalen, Jabari, Naz, Sengun would be incredible in transition. Reid and Jabari (if utilized correctly) would provide spacing. Jalen and Amen would have more driving lanes than the twin towers of Sengun and Adams and we would still be monsters on the offensive boards. A bench of FVV or replacement, Tari, Dillon, Reed and Cam and maybe Mulauch would be pretty salty.

I meant to say 3 bad offensive games. He was still superb on defense so he didn't play bad overall.

    Exactly

Sengun showed a lot of poise and determination out there .

A really good sign for his growth .

Gotta keep getting his body stronger too. Its a steep climb for big men.
