Sengun touch has been off for a few games. It could be fatigue or just a slump. He will have a stinker like this every once in a while. I don’t think it was just Wemby. There was so much congestion in the lane it was a tough go for all the Rockets. We will struggle offensively on nights when literally no one is connecting from 3, but our defense can carry us through those rough stretches. Getting Amen back is really going to get our transition game going and give FVV and Alpi some rest from having to carry this team.

 

He is not LBJ or Luka level of special yet when they were in their rookie years offensively....

 

Agreed, That being said it is a great sign that he is still shooting 50% in a game we fee he is strugling. And I think he didn't miss a a shot after ging 1-7.

Yep. It’s a great sign that the Rockets can win a game with their putrid play on offense this game. Was their defense outstanding or are the Spurs just that bad? In either case, we need to find a way to beat these inferior teams even when our offense is sucking, which it willl quite frequently.

 

Webananas was -12 in 33 minutes

which does not beat out Green the Younger -14 in 24 minutes.

 

Wemby is playing great for a rookie. I’ve never been on the GOAT train with him, but given health he will be a top 10 player in the league throughout his career. Of course, he could still become injury prone. He has to put on weight to reach his potential and I’m not sure his feet will be able to handle it.

 

He is going to be a game-changer defensively if he can stay healthy and put on some muscle, but I liked seeing them shove him around a little bit while he's still a stick figure.

When 65% of your shot diet comes inside of 10 feet you better be at least a 50% shooter on bad nights (and good nights).

 

Sengun calls Tari “Gloves.” He was asked if he had a nickname for Tari during the interview. It was pretty funny, since Alpi couldn’t remember the word in English and had to yell at Tari to get it. Eason has those enormous hands, so Gloves fits, well, like a glove.

 

I busted out laughing because he had Vanessa rolling on the floor laughing at the end. I'm not sure what everybody thought he was saying. lol.

 

Can you imagine this kid in four years and 50 more pounds?

 

Yeah, Vanessa did a good job with the interview. Heck, I couldn’t understand a lot of what Alpi was saying, but the guy has a good sense of humor and doesn’t seem to mind being made fun of. He was cracking me up. More than anything, he cares about winning. He makes that clear, over and over again. Those Silas years had to be hell for him, just as they were for us, the fans that care the most, the fans right here.

 

Ehh wrong on two counts.

First off, bully ball in today’s NBA will get you tossed or fouled out. Second, Wemby and especially Holmgren are a lot stronger than they look. Just be cause they are skinny doesn’t mean they are light weight. 250 pounds is still 250 pounds.

Third, Alpe cannot play bully ball; that is not his game. He is a finesse player and would be better served utilizing his bag of tricks (mid range game, passing etc).

Finally, if the Rockets had hit their threes last night this would not have mattered. Because we were bad from three we were forced to the rim. That is what Pop did to us during the Harden days. It never worked against the Warriors because they were just too good from three so they never seemed to hit cold spells.
