He made mistakes and looked super rushed offensively at times but that's to be expected. The most important thing is that he was really high motor. My biggest concern with big men is speed and motor and he had a great first showing to address some of my doubts. He was everywhere, passing, defense, rebounding, post moves. His one 3 ball that I can remember was about 8 feet too long of a shot, lol. GREAT first game. Im pumped to see more.
That's just a moronic read of this guy Sengun. I wasn't going to comment on your post because your post lack the understanding of BasketBall or BB talents thereof but if I let you get off of this nonsense post, you might believe you had something. Please, get off this forum and shot up.
But, But Sengun isn't athletic. This shouldn't be happening to an ultra athletic guy like Mobley by an unathletic guy like Sengun.
Normally his percentage is better. He had percentage of around 81% in Turkey. He probably felt a little shaky or tired with the tension of the first game. By the way, they also counted to ten for him, as they did for Giannis. This is the first time I've seen this happen in the Summer League. Think about the pressure it will create on him.
Larry was slow as hell. Larry didn't have an enormous wingspan... Sometimes that **** just doesn't matter as much as you guys want it to. At 19 years old, Sengun is the god damn Bobby Fischer of basketball IQ.
It was definitely true that he tends to stay too grounded at the rim and pump fakes too much when he could be more aggressive. He had the footwork and moves to get there but let himself down a lot with cement shoes moves or over-hesitation at the rim. Just an observation, it's his first semi-competitive game in North America so I have no worries about it. There's a lot here for the coaching staff to work with which is all you want from a rookie. So far I have to say I was wrong and I'm VERY happy with Green-Sengun instead of Mobley-someone else. Mobley didn't look bad, though.
I like his confidence and aggressiveness. I like that he’s a physical player. He’s a natural rebounder, plays bigger than his size. He’s got some post moves, looks good around the basket, he’s a great passer and appears to be a willing defender. he’s a little on the slow side and I can’t tell if he has a shooting stroke. While I understand that he’s a decent foul shooter he certainly didn’t look the part yesterday. a lot to improve but a lot of talent to work with and he’s pretty advanced for freaking 19. So far it looks like we got a good one. I want to see some more shooting out of him to see how badly he’s limited there. The biggest surprise to me are the flashes on defense.
Watch the first play in the video. Sengun is not a below the rim player. He will slam it down. He had some nerves playing his first game but this is a fiery, rim shaking big, not just a crafty Scola type player.
I like him a lot, but this is game 1 of the summer league, and I have seen this out of the Dan Langhi's of the Summer league far too often. But I am excited to see how he does. DD
