People need to chill with posting their own twitter on here. Legit sources only! They're handing those blue check marks out too easily these days.
This BS is exactly why I was pissed when we signed Theis. Stupid ****ing signing in every possible way.
I totally agree and think he could be a HUGE factor as essentially the point forward. Keep in mind Morey's dream lineup was when he traded for Gasol with Rick Adelman as the coach. Not sure when Stone came on board but if he was part of the front office at that time he has to be recalling the "what if" and wondering about how hard he should push for a coach to come on board that thrives on the corner offense where Sengun can be what Morey had hoped Gasol would be with Adelman. I imagine Sengun in the corner offense with great scoring wings like Klay Thompson/Reggie Miller, and then suddenly we have a formula there for a title contender with Sengun having a huge role as essentially a point center where he doesn't have to score 30PPG in the post like Shaq or Hakeem. (all this sort of begs the question about the availability of Klay Thompson.... but I'll leave that for another day to dream about.)
I think your point is that actually it's Silas that is the stupid signing, or retention. To my point above, how many minutes do you think Rick Adelman would be playing Sengun a night? Hell Kevin F-ing McHale would probably be playing him more. At least he'd have some appreciation as a former skilled big man.
I guess Rick Adelman would give Alperen more minutes. Around 20 years ago Hedo Turkoglu was drafted as #16 by Kings and his statistics were: 5.3 points/2.8 rebounds/0.9 assists/41.2% field goal/32.6% 3pt in 16.8 minutes. Alperen is playing : 9 points/4.5 rebounds/2.6 assists /50.7%field goal/35.7% 3 points in 17 minutes. In every compartment Alperen has better figure than Hedo. If Adelman gave 16.8 minutes to #16 draft from Istanbul in Sacramento, he would certainly give around 25 minutes to the better player. Hedo had these figures as 21 years old. Alperen is still 19.
Big difference is sac was a playoff team who was trying to win and not focus on developing young players. Peja played the 3 and rightfully played about 38 min a game. The player profile might be identical but the situation is not.
I was trying to say if Adelman gave 16.8 minutes to shorter Hedo (he grown up 2 and a half inches during NBA) in a stars-stacked team (Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, Peja,..) he would certainly give more minutes to Alperen in the current Houston team. Agree?
haha… Also McHale insisted on playing Omer with Dwight. Basically former Rockets coaches are very pro-Turk! It’s not like that Billy “Can’t Play Freedom” Donovan dude!
I think the Sengun minutes thing is a tad overblown, you get rid of Wood instead of Theis and Sengun is the starter. Not sure Sengün is as good as Wood right now so that he can replace his production entirely.
It has nothing to do with what I want, I am not on the Rockets FO team. It is just something people have to get over, like over the rules against gathering of people during a lockdown.
Do you prefer winning 25 games now or developing rookies for a better jab at a ring? 1. You would win about 25 games with or without Sengün starting. That is also not guaranteed. 2. For sure, but you cannot guarantee that because you only have one Sengün and not 10 Sengüns.
Sengun is ROY of our hearts <3 Source: https://www.nba.com/stats/leaders/?...&Scope=Rookies&StatCategory=EFF&PerMode=Per48
