    @DeBeards
you still think agencies dont have greater say on minutes distribution than GMs and the owners?

Banchero might be the best backcourt mate to play next to Sengun in the starting lineup. He can play off of sengun it seems pretty well: And he has a nice build/frame to His size. He won’t get bullied at the nba level by other forwards

Banchero is not a good 3P shooter, so spacing will be a problem with 2 of them on floor.

And Banchero also needs to dominate the ball, like both Sengun and Green, to maximize his offense.

And neither of 3 are elite defensively.

At this point you beg that the Rockets could be average defensively.

The term elite is a term of luxury.

Also and I hate to bring him into the argument but Cleveland is able to play with Jack and Mobley without these so call spacing issues.

harden and Russ aren’t here anymore. We should be able to play a more traditional offense. We don’t need to be indiscriminately bombing 45 threes a game anymore. Midrange isn’t illegal. If we have player that can create and get that shot with efficiency then let it happen. I hate our offense

they’re 19th out of 30 teams on offensive rating.

it’s working cause of their defense - 4th. It will “really” work if Mobley can get a dominant outside shot and they turn into a top 10 offense. That would be scary eventually.

point being … Banchero as noted isn’t a great defender or outside shooter. It’s basically a pass from me… even if he’s the only one left of the “3” when they pick. I’d be very tempted to trade down assuming Stone can get a great return and draft Keegan Murray who is a very similar player to Banchero. He is a better shooter and defender. That said he is a year older and for all I know Banchero would be a better defender and shooter his sophomore year also.

Skill-wise yes. But that stick body needs to be filled up or he will be extremely injury prone. He looks like a 7-ft Shaun Livingston. But if he adds weight, his feet will take the pressure. We all know that having all-world talent doesn't mean much if you can't stay healthy to play.

That's my biggest concern with drafting Chet.

People keep saying this, yet he’s never been injured and bangs with the best in the world on international stage (MVP in tournament) and is as physical as it gets in NCAA so far.

His length and strength are positives, his mobility and IQ keeps him from being in bad positions.
Banchero has missed more time than Chet has and he’s supposed to have the more NBA ready body.
People can have their fears, they’re not based on any real evidence though.

In probability, past history does not predict future outcomes.

The real evidence is simple physics. Thin things are easier to break than thick things if they are made of the same material. I am not saying that he is definitely going to be injury prone, because injuries involve a lot of luck. But if you are talking about probability, you know the concern is not just BS. It only takes one serious injury to cut short a career. We have seen enough skinny 7fters having that fate to warrant the worry.

I’m honestly done with these these types of concerns tbh. It’s just a crap shoot when it comes to skinny kids. You have no way to tell how the body will react and mature. Durant’s body hasn’t changed much. Zion can’t stay healthy, Odem was a beast physically and busted out of the league because of injuries.

Even Yao could have played for more years if his country didn’t force him to essentially play year round. Just take the skill and tool the dice

In athletics, your scenario isn’t applicable. Zion disproves that alone.
What thin players have been injury prone for simply being thin? Specifically from contact, which is what you’re saying.

Also, in physics. Mass and force create more potential for catastrophic failure.

If you’re saying he’s going to be physically overwhelmed by bigger opponents, that’s fair. But to claim injury likelihood when there is no history of it in the league, that’s different.

Manue Bol was injured a lot
    Shawn Bradley
    Kevin Durant is always injured
    Sean Livingstone had injury problems

Lots of lithe players struggle with the physicality of the league.

    How many from contact?

And there’s a far longer list of “normal” size players that are frequently injured. Including Lebron, CP3, Blake, Embiid, Rose, Kyrie and numerous others.
There are far more factors that go into being injury prone, him being skinny doesn’t increase the likelihood.
If he doesn’t put in the work in the gym, that would.
