Trade both and see if we can get a veteran on the cheap, FA or trade.

Is it a hot take to say, why don't we just build around Sengun?

Wood has 3 ball skills to also give spacing in the front court. Tate/Mathew/Brooks fill the 2 and 3. Get a PG who has range. If they can set the table, fine, but you also have Al-p or Tate to run the action through.

I haven't seen this posted yet. It's hard to believe all these highlights are from the same game (the second half of b-to-b @Memphis 12-11-21). There are plenty of players that might go all season without making one of these assists.

The most encouraging take away though is in the last minutes of the clip. Christian Wood starts moving without the ball. I've never seen him do that before.

The reason that most 2 big lineups fail is they are easy to defend. But once there's a little more imaginative player movement away from the ball, especially when the ball enters the post, a defense is instantly stretched to their limits. And Sengun can make all the reads at 19. If you'll recall it took Hakeem a few years of practice to trust his teammates (and it was an era where defenders had to more clearly cover or stay at home with their man). That is what makes Sengun particularly special.

The Rockets have 9 months to make the Wood/Sengun front court work??? We're rebuilding the team, but that particular thing has to be in place within 9 months? By that random assessment, Jalen Green needs to be scoring 25+ and KPJ needs to be getting 8+ assists within 9 months, or they'll be liquidated. Tate needs to shoot 35% from 3-point or bye-bye. Anyone older than 20 needs to be traded immediately!

The Rockets have been starved for size for a decade, and now we have two legit guys that are 6'-10" or more and all anyone can talk about is getting rid of one of them????

This is completely and totally baffling to me. This is basketball. I would love it if the Rockets had an entire stable of guys that were 6'-10". Anyone remember getting spanked by the Lakers?

Is this some bizarre remnant of the Morey Era? Some desperate desire to constantly execute trades? We don't want any player actually feeling comfortable and focusing on improving.

He is certainly the most willing and capable of being a triple threat (shoot, drive, pass).

Stamina and fouling are an issue but those are highly related. Fatigue often makes people commit lazy fouls, and those fouls seem uncharacteristic based on the rest of his otherwise intelligent game.

We have a diamond here. Doncic/Jokic hybrid, though we'll see if his feeling can get to MVP contention in his prime.

I remain confident that Sengun will improve his speed and quickness more than most rookies. His fitness and muscular structure is very very poor at the moment.

the issue is the pending free agency after next season, that’s where the timeline comes from

That, and clearly Christian Wood is incapable of playing a forward spot, no matter how many people want it to happen.

He is a stretch 5, period, end of story.

Send him to New York to go with Julius Randle, and give us those juicy 2022 picks...

Seems like Wood would be more valuable with a long-term contract in place.

And they will smack your **** for playing like lets say Iverson. I literally remember trainings with dribblings banned, just passing and shooting. And rims only with No backboard

Yeah I also had these type of trainings with no dribbling (and actually used them when I trained youths in my hometown. I love that, makes the self centered guards also pass)

I grew when I was in my early 20’s. Here’s hoping Alpy still has another inch or two in him. He’s a special player.
