I also wonder why you like to reply to me when I never give a **** about your opinion. I can say whatever I want and talk to posters I enjoy chatting with. I skip over 99% of the things you say lol
did you also shake your head when pick no 30 and a bunch of undraftees gave a thorough beating to 3pt shooting miracle workers, a deadly duo of Harden and Embiid? 2 perennial MVP candidates, the deadly pnr duo, and the deadliest PG- C combo taken to the school and took a beating from a bunch of nobodies... Dude Butler cant shoot 3s for years now, hes a liability in playoffs and this shouldn't be happening according to Dumbalytics @jordnnnn LOL
I will admit watching Dream all those years is like dating the prom queen. No matter what, others just won't measure up. Even today, I watch NBA games and see someone drive the lane while thinking, "Dream would have got that." I suspect there's a little of it in all of us whether we saw Dream play live or just watched highlights after he retired. After all, this is a Rockets board and he is THE Rocket. So, when looking at other players, especially ones as different as Sengun, I try to recognize the bias I have and work through it. One thing that is clear is that Sengun is a basketball prodigy. His superpower is not quickness or elevation, but court awareness. That can make up for a tremendous amount of physical deficiencies and pro sports are full of people who have done very well using their brains without being athletic freaks. Larry Joe Bird is the most prominent example in the NBA. I think Sengun is a decent defender who will get much, much better as he matures physically, plays in a defensive system that makes sense and holds everyone accountable, and plays with more experienced teammates. Last year, there were countless examples where Sengun made the right defensive play but was the only one doing so. It often made him look like a bad defensive player because mortals can't cover two people at once. This season, there seems to be less of this and I wonder if it is because Sengun is playing with the knowledge that his teammates cannot be trusted to make the right defensive reads and is doing the court geometry problem such that the least bad option is chosen. To draw a football analogy, if the QB keeps throwing interceptions because the WR can't make the right route read, the QB will stop throwing to that person and go elsewhere even if it means a lesser gain. My concern is that this gets in his head and he has to unlearn bad habits in the future. That's the danger of tanking and keeping a coach that doesn't create a team identity--and it applies to others as well. So yeah, Sengun isn't ever going to warp the floor on defense the way Dream did or even the way Yao's height did, but I think he will eventually be a plus defender. The fact that he is a willing rebounder shows me he has the desire and effort needed. Combine that with brains and a good team setup, and yeah, he'll be fine. I hope it happens with the Rockets.
and keegan morey was a very hyped up prospect..it gotta be cause i know his name and i never watch predraft highlights, study or discuss prospects whitemore something i keep coming across lately...i wouldnt wonder if he ends up no 1 instead of wemby or 2 instead of scoot....
Gotta be a running joke around the league the way we are handling him at this point the way other teams can't help but speak on it without saying too much.
I've never seen it before where other players moonlight as GM and coach when it comes to our players. Only thing I can think off was Watson's rookie year where Jalen Ramsey said Watson should be starting.
I find it amazing there were 2 opportunities to play through Sengun and Silas decided we don't need a PG in those two games, neither Nix or Tyty. Wtf? Passing C's play with PG's (Curry, Murray, Fox). Insane degree of difficulty to put Sengun through.
Sengun needs to play 30 minutes plus every game for his development this year. Sengun is becoming the best player on this team….I cannot believe I’m saying this. The fans, nba players and nba analysts are see what Sengun is doing, but the coach does not play him more than 30 minutes
this is a birth of Point Sengun he can play PG just like Lebron Yanis Magic etc and do it even better than them!
