And that's a very good thing that Clutch does not agree with over sensitive ban happy children. That said, I do think certain posters spamming the board with the same comment over and over again as part of a temper tantrum IS something that is potentially worthy of at least a temporary ban. It would give them a chance to go dry their eyes and touch some grass for a change. They might come back better than they left.
You are entitled to your opinion. I do not agree with it. I do have to say now that I am back frequenting the GARM more often I do find myself agreeing with your basketball analysis more often than not. As for politics, that is a different story.
By infrastructure you mean the 3 starters they have that we could have had? Lavert, Allen, Mobley, hardly an infrastructure when dude is dropping a near 71 point triple double. The Rockets are doing basic things, they arent really thinking outside the box which you need to do when you do not have generational guys in the draft. You need to evaluate the draft, and also see what is available. So far they have done everything I would have done, and I am not getting paid by them. Morey would always do things I would have never have even thought of. If you are worried about age, SGA is younger and was available to us for the #2 pick in 2021. The #1 pick was also available to us in 2022, meaning we could have had Paulo. This is just what we know of that was reported, who knows what a GM that actually worked could have pulled off. Whether it be Donovan or other younger players, they have been available and those players would be better than what is currently on the team today. Alperen might be our best player, but that is just saying our team is not very good in general. He is the smallest loser.
I think SGA + Paulo look better than Green + Jabari. That is essentially what I said. Also this is the most common thing on this board when it comes to valuing the roster, they are grading based on potential purely based on age, not based on anything they have shown. You can tell when guys will be generational talents and when they will just be decent NBA players, border line all-stars. We do not have Luka, Zion, or Ja on this team. At this rate a year from now, all of our player will be "old" and then everyone will be valuing them like they do KPJ. 1.5 seasons is enough to judge someone's ceiling when given this amount of opportunity. Its not like they have kept Green on the bench.
Firstly, this is a great post and you’re very good at expressing your thoughts and laying them out! By infrastructure I was more going for the angle that the Cavs’ roster fits Mitchell a lot more than ours would, so they can unlock him in ways that we can’t. In my opinion the only way that he can win a chip is with some great defenders around him, and that’s not something that our roster can provide. Our team is bad right now, and you’re also right about the Rockets making moves that we as armchair GMs probably would make. At the same time, I would argue that making the basic move is better than a lot of front offices who either try and get too cute or are rife with owner meddling. Now, I’m not saying that Tilman doesn’t meddle, but it seems like he has let Stone do his thing for the last two seasons—and we’ll see whether that pans out or not soon. I do have a lot of faith in our young guys, and also tend to be a little soft on them
That is not pinned, firstly. At least not to the angle from which Green had possession of the ball. He's at a 45° angle away from Green. Sengun needed to drop his right foot to the right and seal his defender under the basket or near to it to be in proper position there. Either that, or Green would have had to swing the ball to the free throw line extended position for a proper entry pass. Not saying that the pass couldn't have been made as is, but the degree of difficulty is much higher from the current setup. As is, the defender, though pinned from the 45° (or free throw line extended) angle would've been able to slip position coming around and over Sengun's lowered right shoulder to intercept and challenge the entry pass. Low percentage play, as it is. Details matter.
