What a cool site. I just made a playlist of Sengun dunks to make myself feel better. Behold, The Sengun I'm So Happy Mixtape Vol. 1 https://the-high-low.com/video/play...make2p,make2pa?ordsq=&shotFilters=7,48,8,9,88
I still think putting Fernando or Garuba at the center position and sliding Sengun to PF would help with the foul trouble he often finds himself in. Put Jabari at SF and bench Gordon. This can help get Sengun more minutes and keep him out of foul trouble.
Yeah I think he should play the Center role on offense and the PF role on defense too actually rather than being put in the anchor spot (square peg, round hole.) I wouldn't be opposed to your suggestion at all, it makes sense. Our starting line up has too many defensive weak spots, especially with Gordon phoning it in. Bari has the foot speed to guard the 3 spot, and putting in one of the more defensive C's into the line up is a good way to help shore up our week defense. If we get Wemby, it just makes sense to be that on D Wemby's the C, on offense he's a stretch 4, which matches up with Sengun's strengths/weaknesses in reverse.
Fouls are not the reason Silas does not play Sengun…these are excuses. We would not give Sengun minutes last year because he was out of shape? Now, he will not give Sengun minutes because…..fouls??? This is BS
This is like the Elephant in the room, everybody knows it true but give excuses…..read this article Alperen Sengun - Least Trusted Man on The Rockets? Here are some current stats on Alperen Sengun’s rank overall in the NBA 22-23. Rebound Percentage: 18th. Total Offensive Rebounds: 8th. Offensive Rebound Percentage: 7th. Field Goal Percentage: 19th. Personal Fouls: Top 20. Minutes Played Per Game: 152nd One takeaway from this is, one of the NBA’s absolute best rebounders, and top 20 in field goals, is playing roughly the minutes of a 6th man. Certainly the fouls play a part in this, but this is, frankly, absurd. By several measures, right now, the best player on the Houston Rockets is Alperen Sengun. Alperen isn’t “Costco Jokic”, because Sengun is currently at least as good or better than Jokic was at the same age. Sengun might never win an MVP, but Nikola Jokic was in no danger of winning one at age 20, either. Nikola Jokic also spent three seasons top 20 in personal fouls. The Rockets best player is playing the minutes of a 6th man, because of system fit. The best player, on the worst team in the NBA, isn’t getting starter minutes. Something is wrong.
Second Year Stats from recent bigs and the apparently oh so comparable Jokic. Mobley 34 mpg, 10.5 FGA, 2.8 PF Jokic 28 mpg 11.7 FGA, 2.9 PF Sengun 26.4 mpg, 10.1 FGA, 3.3 PF Murray 28.6 mpg, 9.9 FGA, 2.0 PF P. Will 24.8 mpg, 6.0 FGA, 1.6 PF Right in line with the norm, and obvious issues with fouls hurt him more than any "coach hate" Its time to stop crying SOF.
The team is better the more touches Alperun gets and Jalen is a superstar judging by the numbers he averages in those contests. More of what we already knew...
I agree with a lot of that video, but it’s based on 4 games with 2 being the thunder and magic. He does need more touches, especially when half court defenses get set. I think Sengun getting a jumper would unlock so much. It’s a lost season and he needs to just let it fly, **** it
It's based off 4 games because of poor leadership and coaching. We used to be analytics driven. Do the even look at the numbers anymore?
It is the fact that virtually every guards have career nights on us and we have seen our guards dropping the defense every single night. It is also the fact that regardless who's on the center spot, we can't stop opposing guards scoring on us. If you are happy with scoring twenty points and giving up thirty points per night, then apparently you don't know basketball. If you let Gordon takes that many shoots, he probably can average 25+ with higher efficiency. Is that what you want? That's no reason to sugarcoat Sengun is a defense liability and need improvements, but there's also no reason to hide the fact that our starting guards can't defend the opposing guards, regardless whoever center is on the floor. We are losing, being the worst team in the NBA, everyone on the team should be scrutinized, that's how you get better. Whether Green pass the ball to Sengun or not has nothing to do with the guards' porous defense. Moreover, I'm not even focus on Green. My point is very clear that Sengun should shoot more to keep the defense honest, and in the history so many NBA teams so many good centers done that. If you think Dream didn't make guards like Kenny Smith better, or Shaq didn't make Wade better, then you are just a moron. Sengun is not on that level yet, but if develops into someone who can do 70 percent of what Dream did, that could work. Unfortunately, it's so laughable that you are so defensive that your man Green and KPJ are so untouchable that nobody should criticize them like we are a good team. You came to the Sengun's thread and poo all over the places day in and day out. Do you really have a job? or posting on Clutchfans is your job? Whatever.
