Gentleman, If your target is 40% 3pt shooting for Alpi, I can understand your logic. Otherwise underutilised asset. Secondly shooting is not only 3 points shooting. Teach him fade aways, 12 feet consistent shoots, etc... earlier than 3pt.More productive. Do you think we are suggesting him not to improve his 3pt? What people say is this issue is secondary. How many posts did you see this year about his decline in assisting? That is more important for the team overall. He lacks around 6 assists than should be, equal to 13-14 points a game for Rockets, more important than he will make 3 to 5 points a game.
Alperen Sengun, has become the youngest Center in NBA history to reach 1000 points and 200 assists 1. Alperen Sengun (20-133 days) 2. Brad Daugherty (21-153 days) 3. Alvan Adams (21-216 days) 4. Bam Adebayo (21-233 days) 5. Nikola Jokic: (21-295 days)
Its sad that I was only able to enjoy this post for the first fraction of a second after reading it, because I know how stupid the SOF will get over every thing he does. Great achievement, and goes to show its not like Sengun is being stashed in the d leauge, you have to get minutes to put up numbers like this, and your franchise has to have faith in you for you to get an opportunity to play significant minutes at a young age being a mid first rounder.
You should check first before replying like that. I’ve been a huge Sengun supporter but you’ve become really insufferable in these threads.
ah my boy sengun that cant shoot or defend survived the league wide dreaded harden biid pnr and has beaten 2 superstars 3 point snipers.... LOLOLOLOLOLL 3PT CULTERS, welcome to the real world basketball ! LOLOL
@Easy that 3pt shot you worship hasnt helped embiid and harden much last night...how come? embiid is also elite from midrange how come it didnt help win vs alpi that cant shoot? @AlperenSengun does this count as transition game?
@Easy well well well... can shoot 3s, still doesnt taking them? it seems theres more to game than just being able to shoot 35% on paper
Here are the highlights of Sengun vs. the Sixers. Looks like whenever he was on the court, he had the thankless task of guarding Embiid, mostly one on one. He did as well as could be expected, and even if Embiid did score on him a bunch of times, the single coverage allowed the Rockets to keep to their defensive scheme without continuously sending double teams and overcompensating. A tough assignment that Sengun performed admirably, IMO.
Well, Brit's Great Grandpa's pronouncement is a bit of a hyperbole, I think. I doubt he's watched that many Sixers games.. Anyways, Embiid won the individual battle, but Sengun did enough to help the Rockets win the war. Another solid and gritty performance from the second-year player.
Last two min and OT Alp played about as good of defense that can be played against Embiid. Probably the best defensive stretch of his career. I’m glad he was engaged when not really involved in the offense
Look at what Embiid scored - SENGUN IS UNPLAYABLE HIS DEFENSE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! The fact there's still a few people who'd be internally screaming that, is hilarious. This kid is the real deal. History tells us bigs take longer to adapt to the NBA. He is 20 years old. It's going to be real, real painful when the day comes he tells his agent to get him the F away from this dumpster fire.
I honestly thought history told us it takes longer for guards to develop in terms of impact on winning and advanced stats. Young guards usually have the worst advanced stats. They have to figure out three levels of defenses as guards.
my goodness and he did all this not even being able to shoot! really dont get it how a slowfooted rangless sophomore with the worst supporting cast in nba can win a game vs 2 superstars contender with elite midrange and 3pt games... dumbalytics told me it doesnt happen but i guess we have to wait 6 years down the line when he will be hunted in the playoffs and played out of the court
People mostly focus on his offensive skills, and rightly so. But personally, I'm more impressed whenever I see the defensive improvements he's been making. He may not win all the time, but the dude's been battling in the paint for the team.
