Sengun has a good form to start with, and has not really tried anything on that end. There is much more chance for Sengun to make it than Draymond, and that's why investing on it is a better idea. Jokic shoots comfortably. His % range is big, 30-38% but it is always a threat and he takes it when necessary. That is the level Sengun needs to get to initially. He also should work on the stuff he is good at. I don't see any reason why they can't go hand in hand. Quite frankly, I can't tell what the goals of the coaching staff for him is. Maybe develop pnr better, which i see a very limited plan. No midrange shot, no 3pt, no playmaking from the high post, and not getting 30 minute a game. Definitely wasting valuable time.
I agree with almost all. It doesn't contradict with shooting 3s or midrange. It would be bad if somebody says, developing a 3 should be sengun's only priority, but i didn't think that was the point. I am also putting him around 31-37% 3pt shooting in the long run. But to get there he needs to start taking them.
FIXED IT FOR YOU.... he cant shoot 4 3s a game if hes averaging 8 shots...IT TAKES HIM OUT OF RHYTHM (THE ZONE AND THE FLOW! i wonder if dumbalytics even knows what it is?) AND IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE when he gets that max contract, a lead role on a team and 20 shots a game, only then it wont be a problem for him to take a few 3 pt shots just to keep defenses honest... he can shoot in right circumstances...otherwise its a distraction and ammunition for haters and those would would like to depreciate his efficiency and value so they could sign him for less than hes worth dumbalytics obsession with 3s is harmful...yanis provided spacing to championship team and won 3 MVPs by attacking the rim....
I wrote that in the previous post. More playing time an more shots. Every player is different. Giannis has huge transition game, all time great. Sengun doesn't have it. Sengun has other things. Right now, the best thing that would complement his talents is a offense with a lot of off ball movement, improved ball handling and a dependable shot.
noone could and should trying to be elite at everything... its a recipe for mediocrity and overload.. you also denie that alpi is already a threat from 3.. he cant be left open because if you give him space and headstart and in 2 dribbles and 1 spin hes at the rim... (heloo brain!) yanis does the same thing even thos hes not a good 3 pt shooter... if you cant get this simple fact it discredits everything else in your plan for alpi, its rather unrealistic and tenders to fashion, fad and tastes of casual fans...
oh now its the transition game?!! bwhahahah dude youre such a perfectionist... cp3 doesnt have transtion game still a goat pg still beat lebron and ad playing on one hand and not shooting 3 pointers take that for data dumbalytics! ps i see alpi every game going coast to coast for dunk if that is not a transition game i dont know what is... justs give him the ball and PT....hell be a better player than yanis....
youre just a loser and losers are drawn to authority you wait until the media tells you to put the mask on and take a vaxx
youre a decent analyst(sometimes) but you never gonna be really good at it until you stop being such a 3pt culter...
I don't think you can fault Jokic for not winning championships. He didn't have Curry, Klay, Durant on his team. Their second best player was sidelined in the past two postseasons. Draymond is obviously better on defense. But he would be nothing on offense without all the scorers around him. I don't understand why Sengun fans reject the idea of him developing a shot. How does it hurt his overall development? Having two weapons is always better than having only one.
LOL this is not nba 2k and even in the game simulation you cant up all your skills... time and points to spent on upgrading skills are very scarce and limited...
You are weird. Somehow you hate the 3pt shot. I am not a 3pt culter. I've been complaining about Harden's total abandoning of the midrange. Sengun doesn't have to be a great 3pt shooter. He just need to be able to shoot beyond 10 ft of the basket to open up his low post game. Tell me why you don't want him to be a good shooter? How does it help him by rejecting the shot?
its an insane world and alpi better work on his marketing(or throwing soups) rather than adding 3pt shot....
yanis won 3 mvps and ring without being a good 3pt shooter... what sengun lacks in physicality in comparison to yanis he makes for in cunning and craftiness both of them are BIG TIME FLOOR SPACERS because of great handles and length/craftiness and they are at the rim in 2 dribbles if you leave them open at 3 giving them space and headstart to the rim...
At times he can execute it, other times he can't. You are giving Giannis as an example but ignore the fact that he takes 3.5 shots behind the arc for the past 4 seasons. his shooting form is good, I don't see any reason taking shots will hinder his development at other areas. That's the point. Every player has a different set of strong points. A 3 point would not help giannis or cp3 to open up their game a lot. But for Alpi, I think shot will help a lot. ps If he is doing them every game, show me 10 videos of him doing that. A reliable shot would also make it much easier for teams to use him, will bring so much flexibility.
@Verbal Christ last night i watched alpi guarding steph curry(one of the best, fastest and shiftiest guards) in transition, followed him and stayed with him all the way to the rim (TAKE THAT ALPI HATERS!) and stuffed him there! SLOWFOOTED?! NOOO WAY! just needs PT and coaching on defense... @Ankara1923 @LeDakota @aaquaa @DreamShook @PeterKingX @AroundTheWorld @J.R. @tinman @harold bingo @ExTxGS @conquistador#11 @CHAMPBOY @mirdirir @Joe Rocket @WestendMassive @Salvy @clutchdabear @berkowsk @j@amc @Killatron 2000 @Dovahkiin @ExTxGS @cmoak1982 @bmelo
I beg to differ: Last game Jokic drilled two 3-pt.ers in my boy Alpi's face to keep him honest: nothing but net, both of them. Again, at one point in the same game Alpi did 4 or 5 pump fakes from the 3-pt line; Joker just stepped back and dared him. (Alpi still drove to the hoop and scored on him, but I think Jokic was caught off guard by the boy's audacity.) It's good to have a 3-pt shot. It's not good to rely on it all the time.
No one rejects gentleman, prioritizing other issues (assisting, mid-range and close by finishing, defensive positioning,..) are more important issues.Emphasizing something minor can be counterproductive.
First, shooting is not something minor. It is one of the most basic basketball skills. This is especially true in today's NBA. Second, how does developing a shot impede his development of other skills? He is already an elite passer. Developing a shot including developing mid range shooting. His midrange shooting is quite poor. Learning defensive positioning does not conflict with practicing his shooting.
