Can anyone explain why Silas hasn't had to explain it? As Silas pointed out in the post-game, KPJ played the final 7 minutes with 5 fouls, so he isn't real concerned with players fouling out.
Sengun's defense strikes me as serviceable. He's avoiding some of the cheap fouls he committed last year, using his excellent hands and timing to be disruptive. While some have been surprised by his rebounding, that just looks like what he was doing overseas. If I have to be negative, Sengun does sag off his man, drag his feet, and overhelp on D. This leads to uncontested 3-point shots. He has a long way to go to become a strong, NBA-quality, help-side defender. Watching him away from the ball on D is pretty cringe-worthy, but there's a lot of that to go around on this team. I wish we could see the Rockets hedge every once in a while on the PnR because Sengun would likely generate a few turnovers. We could also get out in the passing lanes and generate steals. But I guess the players would have to make this suggestion. It's not coming from the bench.
Sengun's ability to get his shot off is uncanny. His ability to turn off of either shoulder for his jump hook throws so many defenders off. I want more high post gives to Sengun, especially when he is with the second unit. Would give him more opportunities to turn and face up where I believe he would win most match ups (especially against bigger players).
One day Sengun will play with Magic/Luka/CP3/Stockton/Penny type of players. I wonder his stats then.
why harden!? why!?? 100% unwarranted and unprovoked and at the worst possible moment when other things should have been his focus and priority...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Jesus man... I really like Sengun, but idiotic posts like this really has to stop. Do you have any idea how hard hitting 30pt games with any type of regularity is, much less to the point where one AVERAGES 30pt per? To put things into perspective, Jokic whom is the absolute best case scenario of who Sengun might ever project to be has only averaged 27 points per game. Even Giannis, who no one in the NBA can stop one on one due to sheer physical ability, has only hit that 30 mark this season on small sample size. Sengun will NEVER average 30 points a game.
I won't ever have to worry about that day happening. I am not underestimating anyone, stop irrationally overestimating your own man crushes.
if you don't see how he is dominant offensively, you are being irrational. Maybe you should check some stats and learn how to evaluate data available. Even opposing team fans say that Sengun has massive potential. I just saved your post to see how you gonna eat your own words.
Sengun's current per 36 : 23.4 points, 13.4 rebs. He will likely will play 32 mpg under a decent coach. 25 to 30 ppg, 12 to 15 rpg are expected results. What I wonder is his assist numbers. 6 to 8 is possible with frequent triple doubles. Give him a decent coach, a real pg and 2 years. Lots of name callers will be very very red faced.
Reminds me of Yao in 2002 when they were limiting his mins. But I’m seeing a light here, Silas is starting to run the offense more through Sengun and it is paying off. Sengun like Yao has that ‘it’ factor to become dominant by making the game play to his strengths.
