The top 9 disagrees with you, but I sort of agree. Bruno Fernando played like half a game, he should have been excluded.
This is an empty statement. 1) No stat is flawed. They keep track of whatever the definition is. It is the interpretation that can be flawed. So if you say better PER so better player. That is an interpretation of the stat. That can be flawed. 2) Every single stat, by itself will favor some type of plays, will ignore some qualities, because there is no objective way to combine different types of contributions. You can't simply find a single number that compares players. In that sense every stat is flawed. By saying it is flawed, which I assume you mean some of the things in 1) and 2), what are the flaws? How does it apply to Sengun? I'd rather look at the all the stats and draw myself a picture, which is naturally much more informative than any single number to rank players. But you cannot just dismiss it by saying 'it is flawed'.
I am not saying I agree with it. I also think it's dumb to take him out for it. I was just saying I can see why Silas did it this time. While every other game I'm just perplexed as to why Sengun is benched when he is our best player the whole game
If we lose the Wemby sweepstakes, trading for Mo Bamba could be an option down the road. Run the offense through Sengun, with Smith and Bamba as 3/D bigs.
Sengun is shaping up to be our best player. Once he learns some better techniques on defense, especially PnR defense, he will slowly rise up the ranks. He outthinks the entire floor on every possession.
Here are my Sengun thoughts after the Orlando game: 1. Since our guards struggle to make entry passes (or even to know when to make them), Sengun's ability to step out and create a catch on the wing is a huge offensive development. He showed maturity in turning down some ok shots to get better ones for himself and others. Adding even more coordinated player movement around that action would lift a huge burden off Porter and Green to constantly create something out of nothing. 2. It's obvious that Sengun isn't much of a lob threat on the PnR but that doesn't mean he can't create havoc catching the ball on the low box. The players need more communication about where everyone needs to be in these situations. This isn't a coaching fix. It's 3 or 4 players reviewing game film together and forming a plan of attack. 3. As Sengun develops his strength and confidence, he'll finish even more at the rim. We've seen flashes where he spins under control and fluidly gets over the rim.
its really sad when the official twitter of alpis team is suprised by alpis ability to do this... i argued for alpi to get full time PG job in the fall of last year already
