thats encouraging but i d like for us to forget about jokic...jokic is good but alpi can be soooooo much more and more, if you know what i mean...
Sengun needs to have a 3 pt stroke to keep defense honest. Folks gonna realize soon that all he does is pump fake
yeah probably so.... i wasnt trying to slander tari....i was talking more in general...and it can be done with the best intentions...sengun is perhaps also sometimes guilty of pigeonholing himself into something that is not so marketable or efficient
11th highest PER in the entire NBA. 1. Luka Dončić • DAL 36.1 2. Giannis Antetokounmpo • MIL 35.1 3. Ja Morant • MEM 29.9 4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander • OKC 29.3 5. Nikola Jokić • DEN 29.2 6. Stephen Curry • GSW 27.2 7. Damian Lillard • POR 27.1 8. Jayson Tatum • BOS 27.1 9. Kevin Durant • BRK 26.9 10. Anthony Davis • LAL 24.8 11. Alperen Şengün • HOU 24.5
yea at the 3 point line. In 8 games he took 11 shots. all he does is pump fake, or pass up an open 3. Sooner or later folks are gonna force him to take the shot. Reminder, this is only about him at the 3 pt line. I know what sengun can do at the post.
Yes but it's amazing to know your 20 yr old C can average 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1 TO in two games against a good team. 55% from the field, drained 16 of 17 FT's over those two games. The 3pt shot is going to make him so difficult to guard in the NBA. He's getting there.
By the way, PER of course not the be-all and end-all (and sample size is small), but it's quite funny - next best Rockets player by PER this season is...drum roll...Usman Garuba ranked at no. 95 in the league. No other Rockets player in the top 100. KPJ next, ranked 117. Green 217
If Sengun becomes slightly good at taking 3s, offensively a very dangerous player even in playoffs. Not only that, I would like to see more fadeaways, midrange shots making him a complete one as Hakeem said. The only reason I believe in him is his outstanding work ethic and for sure, he is a fighter.
Just for fun...figured out how Hollinger's trade machine calculates the projected impact on wins and losses... It seems to just look at the player with the highest PER in the trade for that calculation Rockets must never trade Sengun. Protect this man at all costs.
Living rent free in your broke down life! I love it. Fake ROX fan only here to be a groupie! I bet you were wet last night weren't you darling?
thanks for support cutiepie. I hope you won’t keep ******** in your pants just because of hating Sengun so much.
Nah exposing you closet racists is my new pet project! All of you will eventually slip up just a matter of time. I've seen your type before. You're not here for camaraderie among fans of a team - you're here to idolize so it will be fun mocking you. I knew Euros were dense, but sheeeesh is it only a Turk thing this is next level! If you werent looking for a fight when you showed up here and within 24 hours started slinging insults you would have seen just how much Alpy was supported so now you get treated like the dummy you are. Enjoy!
Coming in at the same age as Jalen, Jabari, etc. it’s remarkable to me how much more refined his skills are and feel for the game. Jabari played in some big college games and Jalen played in the G League but whatever the case it’s just night and day from a preparedness. I think Jabari, Jalen, and maybe even KPJ and Tari have more upside talent for sure. However just the skill level is night and day and seems to be the case often with Euro players. Whatever we are doing at the AAU level needs to change.
Definitely exciting. Just look at all the big names in the list. Having Sengun in the same conversation with those guys at the age of 20, just out of his rookie season beyond any expectations. The most enjoyable part of his game (other than fancy post moves) was how he wrestled to box out bigger and heavier zubac and how aggressive he was on boards last night. He made zubac sit with foul trouble and schooled him when he gets back to court. When he gets stronger he could be more efficient in that end and fouls would diminish. He is a trouble for anyone if he gets it going. He has still tons of potential to fullfil. With the right development plan, right mindset and right staff i really wonder what he can become in 3 years. He should be invested in heavily without a doubt.
NCAA and g-league are nothing in terms of experience and education compared to the top euro leagues. That's normal. When you play for a good Euro team, your coaches are top notch, you play with adults, you play with and against some of the best players in europe, you play a lot of competitive games that matter. There is no way a college only player league can provide anything similar to that. And g-league is a place where everybody wants to prove themselves to get to the nba. It has no intrinsic value as a league. That won't really provide a good atmosphere.
