I think our guards hit Sengun a bunch of times on drives, which is good to see. I think Sengun doesn't have to finish the PnR with a layup, he can easily turn it into a post up with good inside position. Sometimes he can't just run at the rim because there's too many taller people.
The Clippers postgame show commentators have been complimenting my man Sengun for at least 2 minutes now. (They're complimenting Alpi's acting ability as well. )
it's not even like Sengun is using his bbiq to do anything amazing. He's just not in a tunnel like everyone else.
Measurables go out the window sometimes. He isn't there yet, but the gifts he does have, no one else has them. If the shooting starts to come, dear lord.
He is actually paying attention to who is where. If a defender is not guarding someone or you are getting double / tripled, one of your own teammates is open and he knows it. Add that common sense to great passing vision and a high BBIQ and you get some beautiful passes. Green's problem is that he isn't even looking to pass, but that will eventually change. All born scorers are like that.
He's busy spinning stories on how KPJ actually played great tonight and is doing exactly what the everyone is asking for.
I think Sengun is a good defender especially with how deficient he is with his athleticism. He looks bad because our team defense is poor. Sengun in the drop is impressive IMO. It's when he is in that middle ground when he is expecting help from his teammates, he doesn't get the help so It looks like it's his fault.
Sengun is the only player who sees how the ten players on the court are moving. For green as you said it will come. He probably never needed to do it, dominating everything without it. For KPJ the clock is ticking, he should actually be motivated to do it himself to get his game to an upper level. But he is not trying to do it, and the coaches are not helping him.
Our help the helper is really bad. No matter who the C is, the back guard needs to slice off the rolling C when Sengun goes to help. These instances are plentiful, and often a result of bad guard/team defense.
He is way better than last year to say the least. The foul at the end of first half was the only bad mistake he made.
Green wasn't like this last year though. Green could make a simple pass last year. I dont know what going on now. Green looks off the little offense we have to launch and dance like KPJ. Last year Green was in the PnR always with Sengun. KPJ is a bad mentor, should have went to Eurobasket with Sengun. Europeans love short shorts.
