If topic isn’t about Sengun’s play time… and there is no racial discussion here, it’s about racial discrimination by some. why is it so difficult for you to understand? How do you explain slandering the most efficient player in the team with cherry picked stats even though he isn’t that bad after all? It’s not about criticizing him, it’s like they can’t accept he can be the franchise player and what I say is that some of these haters are racially motivated. Do you get it now?
Statements like this are part of the problem with this thread and some fans of Alperen. If I don't feel he is the best player on the team it doesn't mean that I'm an idiot, or ignorant, or hateful. It means I have a different opinion. Because at this point thinking Alpi is the best player on the team is your opinion. What some of his supporters don't realize (or perhaps they do if they are trolls) is that silly comments like that don't help your case regarding Alpi. If anything it only makes some work harder to find his flaws and prove you are wrong. He's playing good right now and I'm happy for him, but the NBA is a long season and one thing that is not opinion is that young players aren't always consistent with their play. He'll have good games and will have bad. The good to great players find their niche and become more consistent. I'm confident that most of our young players (Jalen, Jabari, Alpi, Tari) are workers and will become good to great NBA players. How about we stop with this whose best argument, it's silly as I've always felt that if you are clearly the best it's evident and you (or others) don't have to prove it.
Sengun Stans are a different breed! They dont give a flying fck about the Rockets. Their only care is to frame fantasy situations into excuses as to why Sengun is not breaking out as an NBA superstar. Newsflash -- maybe he's not as good as you think he is.
Only some of his more maniacal supports care about his race. The NBA doesn't care because there have been several players who weren't African-American that were not only drafted high but went on to become the franchise player's on their teams. So can we stop the race talk please. I would like to direct your attention to Hollinger's PER ratings for the 2022-2023 season (yes, small sample size of course, but let's monitor it). Despite Sengun constantly being ignored by Porter and Green (and even by lowlifes like Mathews), he is the only Rockets player in the top 50. Now imagine where he could be in this ranking if he was actually given the DAMN BALL and used properly. We would be a much better team. But Silas tries to actively keep Sengun down every chance he gets. Benching him suddenly for the start of the season. Taking him out in the last minutes of a close game that is only close because Sengun played great. Sengun is a good offensive player. They need to start Sengun and he need learn to be a closer in games. Sengun is a legit double-double center who can average 20 points and 10 rebounds a game but they need to give Sengun the ball 12 to 15 times a game. He is a elite passer and has great offensive skills for a center. Sengun is tough and has great skills in the paint and he can make our offense more efficient when he plays. He is a dominating center but a good offensive center who can score 20 points and 10+ rebounds a game. Silas….start Sengun and give him the ball 12 to 15 times a game and get out of the way.

Some people will say PER is not a good stat. Except Sengun also leads the team in every other advanced metric that measured winning like BPM, Winshare, net rating. When this thread was created last year, it was either tongue in cheek or more of a projection, we believed he one day could be. Now it’s just objectively fact.

Too many extremist sengun only fans. I like sengun but I also like usman and green. Folks need to realize that it's a team sport and that sengun by himself isn't at the level where he could carry like harden yet to justify this much blind idolization. I think sengun has the potential to b the best Turkish player to grace the court, but I don't think shaming folks who think otherwise is necessary
