Maybe but don't go down making a dumb play. Just make the right play. If you get beat you get beat. If you miss the shot, oh well. You're not going to make every shot. But losing because of a silly behind the back pass followed up by a low percentage gamble on a steal is inexcusable. He needs to be more aware of this.
Yeah I was really disappointed with his play down the stretch. They were right in it and he killed them possession after possession. This was the first one of these games that I watched in full and it reminded me of how fun he is to watch, but he really needs to improve a lot to be successful in the nba. This is gonna be a huge year for his development. I'm still holding out hope that he can grow another inch or two, but every year that becomes significantly less likely. A little disappointed in the work he's put in on his body (or lack thereof), he's not really moving in the right direction on that one. Anyway I know this post is really critical of him but what can I say, I have high expectations for him. Can't wait to watch him playing starter minutes all year. It's nice that even after a "bad" game he had 10/8/7. All the passing highlights (mostly posted on the previous page for anyone who wants to watch them) were really encouraging to watch.
He had a lot of great passes in this game, but when you make boneheaded play down the stretch that's what people will be focused on. Overall was a solid game. It seems like he has trouble against lengthy defenders
should of went to g league to play real and full competitive games... lack of playing full competitive games cant be replaced with anything...especially not with 6 minutes a night in games where your team is 20 pts behind and your teams goal is to lose anyway...hunting for the highlight reel is all you are left with...
Year two and Sengun's gone the opposite direction with his body. Really a bad look when you're the best NBA player on your team and you're the one who gets targeted on defense down the stretch.
Segun against Greece struggled, his lack of athleticism was on full display as the Antetekumpo brothers went by him fairly easily. He reminds me of Scola, but Scola DOMINATED the Euro like International games - Sengun needs to get a little better and add more to his game he is a great great passer, but on the block long athletic types can really cause him issues. I know he is an NBA player, but I can't figure out his ceiling yet......it could be anywhere from 8 to 1 on the team depending upon how he develops..... He needs to get better on outside shots and more disciplined on D to stop reaching and drawing silly fouls. DD
I wonder why coach silas and lucas werent able to motivate him perhaps sengun is just a lazy sob? i wonder if perhaps him winning mvp of turkish superleague at 18 was a part of worldwide conspiracy to destroy houston rockets?
This is why I am not completely sold on him being some sort of super star as others on the board have him. He still looks way too slow for the NBA, but when you think of Jokic hes not super quick either. I think Jokic is just an anomaly and if a guy has similar skillsets as Jokic they may not have the same amount of success. Jokic also has the ability to bully people and has gained the respect of the league to get calls. The fact that retired Gerald Green was running a lot faster than Sengun in drills and them really pushing him and not getting much out of him was concerning. He just may end up being too slow for the league to be a super star.
stone and silas should of left him win ROY...confidence is the real thing...they didnt played him to his strenghts, killed a youngest euro MVP competitiveness and edge and left him not playing real and full games for a full season. A BIG BIG MISTAKE
I'll take your dumbass off ignore to remind you that Sengun is a grown man. He looked much leaner by April this year and has gained all that weight back with interest. He can easily eat himself out of the NBA.
I think he is just young and has been dominating against weaker competition on the post for years, and now has to figure out how to be effective against faster, taller and more athletic players. He really needs a 3pt shot, and he sort of floats on defense, ball watching too much not disciplined enough yet. I think he is going to be in foul trouble a LOT this year. DD
he needs to make/develop shots from 4-8 ft. Otherwise he does not have room to operate against lengthy bigs and he is at a disadvantage then.
fat alpi is still the best rockets player and one of the best in NBA... fat or slim you either can play or cant and alpi is a baller..he has invented basketball for half of the nba... TAKE THAT FOR DATA
should of spent last year in g league as i suggested ballhogging and firing 15-20 jumpers a game...instead he spent it warming the bench for danuel thesis shooting a total of 5-7 shots a game.... rockets coaching staff and management is clueless and they dont even care... enjoy all those surplus picks(ZERO) youve got playing danuel house, danuel thesis, wood and other scrubs in front of sengun
