Has the Rockets so far measured up to your expectations after the Tmac trade?

I gave 'em the middle of the road (right where I expected type) response.

Early in the season, I think they took a bit to long to come together.

However, after shaking up the team with a couple of trades, then Sura coming off the IL, this team started rocking. Even with the little post all-star slip (with Sura back on the IL), I think this team's still making strides in the right direction.

They were below where I expected them early, they progessed better than I anticipated, so now the're right about where I expected.

We are probably where I thought we'd be, maybe a couple games behind my muted hopes.

The team does seem to realize that they need athleticism at the 4, so hopefully (fingers crossed) they try to swing something this off-season for a Swift, a Wilcox, something like that (good luck to CD on that one). And for goodness' sake, can Yao just get on the phone and say, Hello, Mr Premier? Can I please have the summer off so I can get some rest and actually work on my game?

Why do I even mention these things? Because we couldn't have expected to jump to the top of the standings with a complete roster makeover and Sura's lingering back trouble and duplication of soft power forwards in Juwan and Mo and Yao's inability to progress his game with no summers off.

Sixth seed this year. Hopefully third or fourth seed next year.

    Agreed...

We expected better from Minny, and possibly from Denver...but nobody expected Seattle and Phoenix to do so well.

I think the only downside has been Yao's progress. He's struggled more this year than I anticipated.

After the TMac trade I thought that the Rockets would struggle to make the playoffs. Bringing in Barry, Wesley, and James really solidified the rotation. And JVG has gotten the team playing well. With all of the new players, that is worth commending.

My vote: pleasant surprise, certainly better than I expected.
