sure isnt, he's a stronger and more athletic version of wallace when it comes to dunking..probably jumps higher, but neither has that significant hang time that is needed to make a creative solo dunk AND make it look good.

Relax, NBC is showing figure skating now. The wardrobes are excellent and the choreography is second to none.

    Agreed.

I don't even get why they invited Wallace back. He was in it before and I don't remember him being that impressive.

This years dunk contest is pretty bad. Nothing really creative or impressive.

They gave it to nate cuase he is short and can jump. I have no problem with that. But 3 times? lol...they might as well call it the allstar high jump contest. His dunks are just plain boring!!!...i wanted to see 360 windmills, not boring old off da backbord reverse dunk.

    Worst dunk contest ever!!

I would give the throphy to Derozan, he had 2 great dunks (well "great" comparing to the other dunks in this contest), nate only had 1 good dunk.

I get to see more exciting dunks in a globetrotters game, this contest is an epic FAIL!!

Weakest **** in the history of weakest sh1ts.

    I've seen better McDonald's All-American Dunk Contests.

The dunkers and/or stars better step up next year to make up for this years debacle.

And overrated dunkers never win dunk contests!

    Sincerely,

Seriously, quit sniffing Kobe's jock for once in your life. Go back and look at his dunks that won that contest. 1997 was such a weak showing that they discontinued the contest afterwards. Not to mention Kobe's dunks probably wouldn't have even been enough to win this year's contest.

Hell, all of the ones he did were replicated tonight and were ridiculed or labeled boring.

Kobe's first dunk - Wallace's second dunk (under the basket reverse)
Kobe's second dunk - Wallace's first dunk (double pump reverse)
Kobe's third dunk - DeRozen's first dunk (between the legs)

i just saw all star saturday on my DVR.. .wow am I Glad i did not see this live.. got to fast fwd thru all the crappy commercials.. i hate all star saturday its basically 2 hrs of commercial, talking and crap and only 30 mins of actual competition..
horse - sucked and was super boring
shootstars - crap should get rid of it
skillz challenge - ehh it was okay
3 pt shootout - maybe the most entertaining thing of hte night but still pretty boring
dunk contest - worst dunk contest EVER.. the local high schools have better dunkers.. that was SO INCREDIBLY LAME!!!!

and yes I agree with another poster that Kobe's dunks were lame as hell too..

Best dunk contest of recent memory is Vince Carter and J Rich.. AI with a decent 3rd maybe.
    Dwight had some fun dunks...

If they are going to keep doing this they need to bring in the best dunkers. Not the best dunkers in the NBA but the best dunkers in the world. There are And-1 cats and other street ballers who would come up with some crazy stuff to win a cash prize of $25K or so. Many of those guys have all the athleticism of the best NBA dunkers too.

I agree. Nate is a true athlete. With minutes and a good mindset, he's, at some points, unstoppable.

It's easy to discount him and say he's overrated based on his size, but do we say that about Aaron Brooks? No.

Nate belongs in the NBA and the dunk contest, if it exists after this year's disaster.
