Someone needs to drag him from his mansion in the middle of the night.. Parade him naked in the street until a crowd forms and beat him until he soils himself.

What a fantastic picture. I wonder what the joke was, and who made it.

Why not just allow white men who own property to vote?

Seemed to work out fine back in the days.

He wasn't being serious. He was asked afterwards if he was being serious and he said something like "I was trying to be as outrageous as possible."

Sounds very unAmerican. Maybe even libertarian/conservatives would be against this?

What Perkins is proposing is exactly how corporate American is governed.

We are currently giving more and more power to corporate American to not just make our products but to run our lives, and dictate our laws through their funding of political elections and their ownership of media to set our political agendas.

No wonder we are losing our democracy when we give more and more power to such a major undemocratic institution-- the corporation.

In an odd way, this actually would be a fun experiment. Say the GOP was in power - they would have incentive to give all the tax breaks to the Democrats, because that would take them out of the voting pool. You're kind of incentivized - on a tax basis, at least - to give your political opponents the tax benefits and pay more taxes yourself if you want to maintain the power.

I can agree to that. Tax evasion is a felony and felons are disqualified from voting.

I agree that restricting voting based on income or payment of taxes is a horrifically bad idea. I do, however, think that in order to vote, you should be able to pass a test on basic civics and the Constitution.

I'm reminded of a certain quote by the popular SNL recurring character "The Church Lady"...
