"It hurts that people say I went overseas to get the money. Like, nobody said that when I played for the Sixers for a million dollars. Nobody said that when I played for the Grizzlies for three million dollars. It’s just the fact that I went over there. No! I want to play basketball. What the hell am I going to do, sit home and try to get fat? I want to play." - AI August 2011 of SLAM
Iverson really wants back in http://www.csnphilly.com/07/18/11/b..._insider_lynam.html?blockID=542017&feedID=694 “I just want to do whatever an organization wants me to do,” Iverson said. “Everybody made a big thing about me not wanting to come off the bench, but I said that at that point because it never happened to me in my life and it was something new to me, and obviously I didn’t know how to handle it. But to be back on the biggest stage is my whole thing and I feel like I have a couple more years left in my career and I want to play. I sat through and watched the whole season and it was tough for me. Now I just try to do what I have to do to be physically and mentally able to get back on the stage.”
i'm glad allen is addressing the money issue. i hate that's the first comment from some people. i'm sure its true in a lot of cases, but i'm sure some of these guys just want to play
