I guess I'm in the minority, but I think the 6ers got a GREAT deal out of this. The 2007 draft is supposed to be VERY strong. Andre Miller is underrated, and Joe Smith is still pretty good.

    Good trade for both teams.

I'm gonna love watching Denver implode. If they can hold it together, it will be fun to watch.

Earl Boykins and J.R. Smith have got to be shaking their heads. Boykins has obviously come to the end in Denver and needs/wants to leave. Suddenly, J.R. Smith will be a distant 3rd fiddle on the Nuggets. I'm sure it was sweet to get 12-15 shots a game. How will he react to getting 1/2 that many now?

Not to mention Marcus Camby, who will probably only get about 5 shots a game now...

I see empty seets in Philly soon. The Answer was the only thing that made the organization legit.

King is just plain dumb idiot - They should just burn him alive. I am not going to re-iterate his failings other than state that they are many ways to tank. You don't get a worse deal because you want to tank. Tanking and getting best out of what is on offer are completely different issues. Beside, there is no guarantees as to whether they will actually end of with Oden.

Obviously, Sixers better hope some team get desperate by trade deadline, and overpay for Miller.

I'll agree. AI's done in 5 years max. While Andre Miller and Joe Smith aren't exactly younger, the draft picks will be. And there's no baggage. Too bad their draft history doesn't look too good, and the picks will be low.

Actually, I take it back. The trade's mediocre at best. Personally, I think AI's overrated. I'll credit his heart and toughness, but I hate his basketball. I was suprised no one talked about Iverson when the whole thing about Kobe not passing came up until I realized it's just accepted that the ball will never leave his hands unless it's on it's way to the basket and there's no point in refuting.

Miller was also probably the only talented play initiator they had, and they got a finsher in Iverson instead.

    Carmelo - initiator/finisher
    Boykins - initiator/finisher
    Camby - finisher
    Nene - finisher
    J.R. Smith - finisher
Najera - ??? If he has the ball only God knows why

Anyway, I'm not going through the entire roster because there's only so many talented players. I shouldn't have even listed Najera. Sorry.

I bet Kiki was able to confuse King into thinking he's getting J.R. instead of Joe Smith by only using last names.

The Sixers are in the running for Oden, plus two other potentially good rookies. On top of that, they have a very young, talented roster.

Plus, I'm sure that not all 76ers fans are thrilled with Iverson.

If they're going into rebuild mode, they need to trade Webber.

If you can trade Webber for a good young forward, I believe they will be a good team in another year or so. Give them time to gel and develop, and keep the team together, and something good could happen.

Plus, Andre Miller will surprise some people once he gets to Philly. He's underrated.

This is a good deal from both perspectives. philly loses AI's insanely large Contract and gets a very handy expiring deal in smith and a very handy PG in Andre to boot. not to mention to 1st rounders. Philly is going through a painfull rebuilding phase. now with those two 1st rounders and most likely a lottery pick, there future is gonna be lot better before the AI trade. a solid core of Oden, Iggy, Miller and a solid free agent, there gonna be solid. not to mention webbers expiring contract the season after will also help them more. billy king did the right thing.

but they're still getting 2 picks at the bottom of the first round. no matter how deep a draft is, it's a crap shoot down there.

miller is slightly above average and joe smith averages 5 points and 3.6 rebounds. this trade certainly wasn't about their talent.

they're 5-18, and haven't won since iverson stopped playing. how talented can they be?

i guess hope springs eternal but how are you going to trade a broken down, below average pf who makes 20 million a year for a good forward?

i guess i don't see how anyone can be that optimistic about the sixers future, especially as it pertains to this trade. i mean they could get oden, but that has nothing to do with this trade.

they got little out of it except a chance they might luck out on a late first round pick. and, on top of everything, billy king will be leading the rebuilding so how hopeful can one really be?

Carmelo might take issue with that.

I've got some insider scoop for the board from a team GM that explains Denver's fight with the Knicks. Apparently, Iverson demanded it or he would nix this trade, said something about the Nuggets didn't have "street cred" and he wasn't into running with girls so the powder blue jerseys had to go also.

Supposedly, after the fight, AI said the lite blue jerseys were Okay and he was proud to run with Melo.

I heard this from a friend of a friend so take it for what it's worth, but I sure believe it............ ;)

Let's do it. It would be so great to have a real point guard.

    ROFL! :D Awesome.

Seriously though, I'm curious to see how he carries the team while Melo is doing his time....

I don't know how Melo and Iverson can co-exist, but the #1 and #2 scorers in the league, damn. They are now pretty scary.
