love how people are complaining that he got pulled over for not using his signal, but yet, just a week or so ago we had a thread were we talked about things people should be pulled over for but arent, and turning signal was one of them. and I have a suspicion that it wasnt a one time turning signal violation, but rather he probably didnt use it repeatedly.
changing lanes without using signal with a car nearby on the opposite lane <> changing lanes without using signal on an empty freeway
entitled douches who think they are above signaling should get their car impounded upon being pulled over to the side of the road... i love when I remind someone to signal and I'm the ******* who gets the middle finger.
You're not just RISKING being racist....you ARE being racist when your implication is that only black people try and dupe the police and government. People of all races and colors do it. With that being said, Iverson is a douche for simply not paying his tags. Also, the whole "Do you know who I am?" bit probably just makes things worse.....if Eva Longoria tried to pull the same bit, and it didn't work, something tells me it's not gonna work for you either, AI. Just sayin....
LOL, nothing good ever comes of someone uttering the phrase "do you know who I am?!?!?" I'm not a fan of Iverson at ALL, but I will say this: If he was being a douche, at least he was man enough to come back and apologize for it. Usually these stars/athletes just issue an empty public statement 3 days after the fact.
Not signalling a lane change is one of those violations cops use to detain you so that they can see what else you might have done wrong. He was probably hoping for a drug bust, or perhaps he even suspected that the tags shown weren't legit. I don't know if it was racially motivated or not, but pulling someone over for something like that is definitely nothing more than a pretext. Next time I'm pulled over, I'm definitely going to try that "Do you know who I am?" line. I don't see how that could possibly go wrong.
Actually, we talkin' bout tags and lane changes and mouthy celeb superstars that dodge "common" responsibilities all while expecting to get away with it due to their "star" power. Nice job by shipwreck throwing race into it, though.
just like JV said, they may have been pulled over because of the car they're driving or the color of their skin or both.. I'm not saying anything definitive.. but lets not pretend being stopped for being black doesn't happen anywhere in the US anymore..
Racial profiling definitively does happen. I'd be willing to bet that the more ubiquitous kind of profiling is financial. I'm a white speeder and I still get pulled over more than I think I should, and I'm pretty certain it's because of a combination of: a) I'm speeding b) I drive a luxury brand car c) Issuing speeding tickets/other moving violations is a large part of most municipal incomes In other words... They see me rollin.
