Cassell proved himself as one of the best and underrated point guards of all time. Everywhere he went he made teams better. Though he split time as a rookie and 2nd year player with Kenny Smith, there was no doubt he left his stamp of greatest in the playoffs. The 'he had Hakeem' excuse doesn't fall for Cassell cause he's won with many other players who were not in the same ball park as the Dream. if people read what he brings to the team besides his mouth, you will find a true leader. many of these so called better PGs have been destroyed in his path. Penny, Bibby, Baron Davis, Steve Francis (yes Sam dropped like 38 points in his first head to head) etc You never saw Sam act like Ricky Rubio, he played for the crappiest franchises like the Clippers and Wolves. So Cassell vs Calvin is definitely a legit comparison. Sam won't make the HOF, but everybody in the league knew this guy was a gamer. He lasted so long was consistent because of his basketball skills not athleticism. People in HOUSTON or claim to be ROCKETS FAN, they should know that.
I apologize. I don't think I got past "In fact, Calvin played on a bunch of losing teams. In his 13 years as a Rocket, we were above .500 only 3 times. In that great season for Murph, Rudy T, our leading scorer the previous season, missed almost the whole year. Does the name Kermit Washington ring a bell? So the team as a whole dropped from 49 to 28 wins, while Murphy got all of Rudy's shots to go with his own and scored a lot of points. That was his only season scoring more than 21.0." It sounded like making excuses for Murph's success, while promoting Sam, and after reading the entire post again, I can see that wasn't your intention. Too much of that stuff I was complaining about goes on, however. Just not from you.
PG-Scott Brooks SG-Larry Robinson Sf-chris jent pf-earl cureton c-eric riley The practice squad to the champs.
I think alltime teams I think are more about how a player preformed on his time with the rox more thant its fitting hall of famers in the list .. iam 16 didnt follow the rockets dont know many player before the hakeem era so i dnt think i have the right to fill in the blanks here ..
Niiice. But I would replace Barkley w/Horry and Thorpe w/Battier. No all time Rockets team (especially a bench) would be complete w/out these 2. And McCray at least deserves honorable mention. I think Brooks finds his way onto this list in a few years. This kid's shooting & quickness almost led his Yao-less team into the west conference finals.

wow can yall imagine a frontcourt with yao and dream on the floor at the same time. amazing. but yao would have to learn to work off the right block, because the left is definetely olajuwons.
you have it all wrong .. yao by far is the best shooter of the group he has to be the shooting guard ... and hakeem with his handles, has to be the pg
